Happy Building

We used happy building for design of our rear and loft extension projects. Our architect, Geo, made thorough measurements and drawings, listened to what we wanted and after a few iterations he developed a design that we were delighted with. We would recommend Happy Building.

We chose Happy Building for our architectural design and the planning application, and also for the second stage including structural design, project specification and costing. At all times, the people we interacted with were super friendly, explained everything in detail, took our wishes and concerns into account, and were generally helpful to guide us through this unfamiliar process of planning and designing an extension.

The design phase was a very pleasant experience because our architect Anastasia not only made a real effort to understand our wishes and incorporate all ideas we had, but she also proposed new ideas (like a vaulted ceiling we absolutely love) and was able to amend the design to accommodate the concern of the planning permission officer.

The second stage of structural planning and costing also went really smooth and we got all the necessary drawings and detailed project specification that left no room for confusion. In fact, the project specification was so detailed that we were able to approach other builders for comparative quotes and felt confident that they really quoted for the same work without any room for misinterpretation. In the end, we didn't choose Happy Building for the building stage of the project, but definitely not because we wouldn't feel confident that they would deliver great work, but mostly due to our own tight budgeting constraints.

I hired Happy Building to do a loft conversion and ground floor extention. The design and planning process was smooth and I got the permission in time for build works and the service was just great and professional !

I was so pleased to have chosen Happy Building to do the plan drawings for my kitchen / Diner renovation with the addition of bi-fold doors. I have now got the plan but the work hasn't started due of Covid-19, however I would like to add further about Happy Building services. The task was to accomplish to my requirement and also completed with the council approval in a good timing. No matter how busy the staff were but were able to listen, talk about changes or modifications and also gave me a rough idea of how much the job will cost. Now I am so pleased to have chosen them with true professionalism and furthermore showed their excellent rapport with me!

Very happy with the design and planning services from Happy Building, we had to go through a few different ideas for the design but we're pleased with where we've ended up and the planning application process was dealt with smoothly and professionally. Valter, Jenny and the team are incredibly positive, friendly and great to work with. I would definitely advise face to face meetings to go through the merits of different planning ideas, options and subsequent major changes.

We have used happy building for the design of our 2 story extension. I found the quality of service, response to emails, professionalism and flexibility to be excellent. Valter and his team worked with us through several different variations of our design until we had something we were happy with. Initial planning application was refused but a slight alteration was made by the team which satisfied the planning permission.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Happy Building. My project was a two storey extension and complete refurbishment of a house that had barely been updated since the 1950’s. From our opening meeting we built up an excellent relationship with Valter and this continued through the entire build. The work started on time and over a six month project only ran a couple of weeks over the scheduled end date which is pretty impressive. We were lucky to have Brigen as our foreman – he’s hugely experienced and nothing was too much bother for him. I’d be lying if I said there weren’t ups and downs over the course of the build but that’s to be expected; the end result is fantastic and we’re so thrilled to now be living in our dream home. Thank you!

We engaged Happy Building initially just to build a one room extension to our house. Unfortunately, due to some council and Thames Water issues we had to stop work which led to a multitude of other problems, but ultimately, Valter and the team stuck through with us in spite of all these things and we ended up with a basement, an ensuite bathroom, a new kitchen and dining area and an extra bedroom which while we had never intended to do, are very happy with as you can imagine!

Valter always has a lot of great ideas and follows through with his promises. We are very thankful for the work he has done and for sticking by us through all the other issues we encountered. I am fairly sure not many other companies would have done the same for us.
