Aronel Cottage Nursing Home

So glad and grateful that we found Aronel Cottage Nursing Home for my mother during her last year.

They treated her with dignity and kindness during her illness. The staff are very well led and all of them were very responsive to any questions we had.

My father sent his last three months in hospital or being cared for by staff in Aronel Cottage Care Home. He was looked after with great care in a relaxed friendly manner. He enjoyed his food, the daily activities and his ground floor room. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff made his last few days as comfortable as possible. My brother and I would like to thank them so much

I could take up this whole review space listing all staff at Aronel. Basil Alucka manages a fantastic home where my wife has been since November last year.
Every member of staff is always courteous, smiling, caring, constantly alert and nothing is a problem. They go way and above to ensure the residents are always comfortable, the food is restaurant standard and the reassurance I retain that my wife is being properly cared for is so comforting.
My wife's medical condition is complex. Every single member of staff is constantly updated so when they come on duty, there is a detailed handover every time. They have handheld comms units that allow perpetual updates on patient welfare, symptoms and status.
Aronel Cottage Nursing Home doesn't have contemporary decor. So what? It's immaculately kept, everything works, you can treat your room as if it were your own, decorate it, place personal items where you want, there's full WiFi throughout, tv in every room and a day lounge where residents can meet up. There is a beautiful outside space which is fantastic in warm weather.
I could go on for pages. Suffice to say, I couldn't have hoped for a better home for my wife. Our family are so relieved to witness the extraordinary level of care she's receiving.

Our Dad went into Aronel Cottage following a stay in hospital after falling and breaking his hip. We chose Aronel based on previous reviews and after visiting the premises we were impressed. Sadly Dad was only there for a short while as he was so poorly, however, we were pleased with his care. Basil, in particular, was very kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him, the nursing and caring staff. We can thoroughly recommend Aronel Cottage.

My father was admitted to Aronel Cottage in February 2022 and from that minute, he received nothing but outstanding care. His needs grew more and more complex as time went on, but he was still treated with care and dignity.
The food was home-cooked and there was a lovely, varied menu.
Whenever I emailed the home with a question, I received a call back within the hour. The staff are all amazing, everyone knew the family's names too. The nurse in charge was always there to help and update us and he was always so calm and dignified. He deserves a special mention.
My Dad's last couple of weeks when he had to stay in his room was dignified and the staff made it a special time for all of us. We could visit whenever we
liked. Dad died in his room peacefully and in what we considered his "home.".
