Excellent Practice, professional staff

I was very impressed by the staff at Helen's Bay DP from the genuine friendliness at the reception area when you first arrive, to the professionalism and advice you receive in the chair. From my recent experiences the overwhelming feeling was that everyone working there really cares about their patients, and that's important when if you, like me, are apprehensive about visiting the dentist. It is a shame that I can only give five stars!

Excellent professional staff, considerate and helpful. Brilliant aftercare as well.

I'm going to use one word for Helen's Bay Dental practice and that is professional.
Let me explain: for over 15 years, I couldn't eat on the right hand side of my mouth due to the loss of two bottom teeth and one top tooth. So an appointment was booked and x-rays were taken. I was then shown the x-rays and the team explained what they could do for me - e.g. the two bottom implants would be relatively easy. The top implant would be more awkward and that I might need a bone graft, plus they would have to use two screws to hold the implant in place. So a time was arranged for the procedure to be done. The day before the procedure I was very stressed about it as you would be. The moment I walked into the dental surgery my stress levels dropped, from the receptionist to the dental surgeon, I knew I was in good hands and in fact, I almost fell asleep on the chair! After the procedure was finished, they explained how to take care of my mouth and I was then given all the stuff to look after my mouth, including the necessary medication. I was told how there would be a follow up phone call to make sure everything was alright and there was! Now there was just the wait for my implants to bed in, which can take six months or more depending on your bone structure in your gums. So to keep a long story short, I now have three new teeth and for the first time in 15 years, I can eat on the right hand side of my mouth; it's fantastic.
Again I can only use one word for Helen's Bay Dental practice and that is professional.

I attended HB Dental with problem gums and sensitive, discoloured and wobbly teeth. After quite lengthy treatment, my gums are in excellent condition and my teeth no longer move. Initially I thought I was facing Dental Implants but instead I now have had 4 porcelain veneers fitted- it’s totally worth it! Prior to my treatment, I could barely laugh or smile without covering my mouth. Nor could I manage a cold drink due to the sensitivity - I could barely face the wind without wincing.
I can assure you that the entire team is super professional and very welcoming and friendly. They have the most advanced technology and impressively, it was all pain free.

I could go on forever about how happy I am with my new smile. My teeth were discoloured and I had also been thinking about Invisalign for minor alignment changes. The porcelain veneers replaced the need for Invisalign, and have provided instant relief for my sensitivity. Gareth is a perfectionist and his attention to aesthetics combined with his skill has made me a very happy human. Well done 👏

I had been considering some cosmetic dental work for a time but was always put off by the price and concern that I wouldn't get the desired results. I've recently decided to take the leap and came to Helen's Bay Dental as a local, highly-regarded practice to see what could be done. My initial appointment allowed for a full check over of my teeth, as well as x-rays and 3D scans of my teeth and bite for discussion of what changes I'd like to make. I felt in excellent hands with Glenda and Sarah as their professional manner put me at ease and kept me informed of each step of the consultation as well as the chat of all options available to me and what they would mean. I have since been back for a hygienist appointment with Lorraine which again left me feeling extremely comfortable with her work and tips for maintenance which will help my oral healthcare in the long run. I'm excited for my next appointment which will let me see the potential affect of the cosmetic work I was interested in, and will give me the chance to see a mock-up before committing to the full thing - yet another benefit of a practice that understands individuals as well as their dental care.

I went ahead with the veneers I have been planning, and can only say the usual attention to detail and client-care was more than present, and I am OVERJOYED with my new smile!!! This has totally uplifted my confidence; I’m no longer self-conscious and covering my mouth to laugh or smile, I’m proud of my big grin and amazing new teeth, and the compliments from friends and family who are stunned by the difference and how natural my smile looks. I cannot give enough thanks to Sarah and the team for all their work!!

Had hygiene appointment today with Lorraine Huyton. Absolutely brilliant. Always a bit nervous about hygiene appointments as I have trigeminal neuralgia but needn’t have worried. Extremely gentle.
