I rarely write reviews but due to the exceptional, wonderful patient care experience and the amazing transformation to my smile I wanted to shout it from the roof tops.
As a very young child I sucked my thumb which created prominent upper front teeth. Running to school I fell flat on my face breaking my 2 front teeth. From this day the dentist informed me I was unable to have a brace to straighten my teeth and I had to have 2 crowns. I always feared the dentist as it was a time full of pain, discomfort and the results never gave me a feeling of confidence in my smile.
I needed a replacement upper front bridge so I decided to research other dentists. My sister received a high standard of treatment and highly recommended Helens Bay Dental.
Arriving for my 1st appointment I was nervous which soon passed when I was greeted by a very warm, friendly receptionist, Charlotte. She introduced me to the Treatment Co-ordinator Glenda. She explained all the procedures I was considering, and any questions or worries I had, in trying to decide my plan for a confident smile. I decided to go for Implants Bridge and three veneers. My next appointment was with Dr Gareth Small, he went through in very professional detail, showing me scans of how he would remove the old bridge, replace it with a new implant bridge, finishing the smile with three veneers. I was very impressed with the impeccable clean environment through out the building, all the modern technology and having the technical labs on site. This all gave me peace of mind to start my journey for a new smile I hoped to achieve for my niece's wedding in October.
The procedure started in April with the removal of the old bridge and a temporary one fitted in one day. The whole procedure was carried out very efficient, pain free manner and with a high standard of dental nurse care and after care. I was so pleased with the shape and colour of the temporary bridge.
Gareth recommended an appointment with Gill the hygienist to advise me on the after care of the bridge.
Gill was excellent, as I have very sensitive teeth and she was able to remove the tartar from my teeth, pain free. She explained the beneficial use of an electric toothbrush and a water flosser and whitening treatment. I enjoy cleaning my teeth now as I feel and see such a healthy difference, and with the continuing help from HelensBay Dental I intend to keep it that way.
At the end of September my final Bridge was fitted. Gareth and the Dental Technician, Lea, were so professional and such experts, in making sure I was happy with the colour, as I wanted them as natural to my own bottom teeth.
The difference of the before and after pictures of my teeth are amazing. I went to the wedding and smiled the day away with great confidence, not only new teeth but I felt a healthier smile.
I highly recommend HelensBay Dental practice for any dental treatment as it is of the highest professional standard, impeccable attention to detail and all the staff kindness and friendly expertise. I am more than happy with the financial investment, to me it was money well spent. Thank you.

Follow up appointment to have the final tooth fitting on an upper implant & arrange future appointments. I have become a member of the practice as I am totally reassured by their expertise.

Having suffered extreme pain I had specialist Mark Kennedy remove a root canal. The time, patience & skill ensured I kept my tooth & have no pain. His life Carly dental nurse kept me comfortable throughout the procedure. Sarah my dentist gave me a prompt diagnosis and her care and professionalism shines throughout all my appointments. Many thanks to a fantastic team & welcome.

A nice warm welcome at reception followed by a routine checkup with Gareth who was excellent as always. My mind was put at ease
I also had a nice chat with Amanda who popped over.
We’re extremely lucky as patients of HBD to receive this very warm welcome from the owners themselves.

Hygiene visit

Met by a very friendly, efficient receptionist. Great care from Gareth and nurse. A referral for a procedure was sent and an appointment has been made for Monday. How great is that.

Don’t even think twice- send your kids to Edward, the very best! They will enjoy it, I promise. He’s so good with them and provides the very best care. Puts everyone at ease.

I was having pain with an implant and made an appointment with Edward, what can I say about this young man that’s not already been said? He’s courteous and very capable and nothing is too much trouble. He explains the situation as he goes along and puts you at ease if you’re the nervous type, like me! I 100% recommend HBD and will continue to be a patient until the end. Thanks guys.

Just had top arch of implants fitted at Helens Bay Dental Practice, I couldn't have been treated any better by all the staff.Although by no means painless the pain was a lot less than I was expecting.Anyone thinking of implants should give this Practice a call , young Edward is 1st class
