Everything A Ok !!

Recent issue with an infected rear molar, which Scott discussed the options (60% success crown or extraction). Appointment made for extraction but infection flared up again so surgery made an urgent appointment available ahead of that date. I was seen promptly, Scott explained what was going to happen throughout the stages of process and I had a painless extraction.

I almost enjoy going to this surgery. My dentist Scott and hygienist Gemma are very gentle but thorough and extremely professional.

I rang the dental practice because I was experiencing pain in a tooth which I thought had cracked following a fall. My usual dentist was on holiday but I was given an appointment first thing the following morning to have the tooth checked by the other dentist at the practice. An X ray was taken to establish if there was any infection in the tooth and fortunately there wasn’t and as the pain was manageable, an appointment was made for 3 days later when my usual dentist was back from holiday, so that the tooth could be treated. Starting from the receptionist who I spoke to on the phone through to the dentist and dental nurse who saw me I was treated with concern and courtesy throughout my visit to the practice - the service I was given was excellent.
There was no charge for this initial consultation either.

Excellent treatment and great staff

I attended the surgery today for a hygienist appointment with Gemma and a dental appointment with my dentist Nick. I was dealt with by the receptionist in a very friendly manner and she duly informed me I had been previously overcharged for some dental work at a previous practice so I would be receiving a £60 refund. Excellent start. I then waited upstairs for my hygienist appointment and was seen promptly with 3 or 4 mins. My hygienist Gemma and her assistant were very friendly, asked how I was, had I had any problems and enquired about where I had been on holiday. The work carried out was very professional, checking at regular times I was ok and reminded me if I needed a break just to raise my hand. Once the work was done, Gemma gave me some advice on cleaning my teeth and they both wished me well. I then waited to see Nick, again very few minutes before I was seen. The appointment was to have a tooth removed. Nick checked I was still ok to have the tooth removed which I was. He then explained everything that was going to happen, issues that may arise, options etc. He checked I had eaten breakfast but as I hadn’t I was given a glucose tablet just to avoid the anaesthetic making me feel a little dizzy. Once I was given the anaesthetic Nick and his assistant had a very nice chat about football, Padel and general stuff which helped me stay relaxed for what was about to happen. My tooth removal was a bit of a struggle but as Nick had already prepped me that this was likely I didn’t feel anxious and just let him get on with it. I was in the chair about an hour, Nick and his assistant regular checked I was ok and once the tooth had been removed and stitches inserted Nick checked I was feeling ok and issued me with a do’s and don’t leaflet, discussed pain relief and said any problems such as excessive bleeding, swelling or pain to get back in touch immediately. Although the extraction wasn’t the most pleasant experience I have encountered I was in no pain, knew exactly what was going on and although I hope to avoid another extraction I would have no concerns if this became necessary. I cannot fault any of the staff, service or expertise and I would gladly recommend the surgery to anyone. Well done.
