My experience
NHS services have really gone downhill in my opinion. Arrived at the surgery 06.01.2025, receptionist welcoming and asked me to take a seat. Dental assistant pleasant, dentist was even pleasant. Informed the dentist that I cannot tolerate the recent denture I was given and was informed by the last dentist I could have a bridge made or a dental implant. I did ask the cost at the last appointment and was told roughly £1,000-£1200. Today I was told £2k-£3K, the dentist checked my denture and said it fits. It doesn't, it sits away from my gumline and is disproportionate.
More needs to be done for people using the NHS, it's disgusting that you cannot receive affordable dental services and does not surprise me that people are going abroad for dental care. Was offered to continue with the appointment - check up, but felt it was pointless as I've recently been checked over. I've seen that many different dentists since 2022 it's unreal. It's time the NHS undertook a proper review of dental services and put something effective in place.
