The friendliness and help you receive while waiting and during the dental process.

My initial thoughts and opinions were that I had found a thoughtful, understanding and helpful dentist practice and in my first appointment, the dentist seemed to understand my needs but also the complications I had with my health that affected my treatment. I was promised a call back that day, or the next day with a solution/decision on the treatment they could offer me as I had a tooth infection in a lower crowned molar. I had to phone the following day as I hadn’t received a callback and was told it was because the dentist had been busy. I then had a lady (not sure who she was) phone me back and was quite blunt with her treatment of me. I have to have treatment under sedation due to health issues and allergies to antibiotics but had not ever had a reaction to sedation. The lady told me that the practice would not be able to offer me sedation as it was a risk to them in case I had a reaction to the sedation and that if I was not “willing” to have the treatment without sedation then they couldn’t help me. I explained it was not that I wasn’t willing but that my health issues prevented that. The lady seemed rushed and a bit pragmatic in her dealing with me and said that even if I had an extraction without sedation, despite my being in pain, and having swelling I could “maybe” be seen in a week's time. Also, the lady who spoke to me was unaware of my dental issues and even had to ask me which tooth it was and then I had to hold while she then looked at my notes. In the end, due to her lack of knowledge of my situation, and lack of care and understanding I ended the call.
I am disappointed that my health issues seemed too much for this practice, especially as the dentist I saw was so nice and understanding in my initial appointment.
Whilst I fully understand I have complications and not an easy diagnosis, I feel it could’ve been handled differently and the lady I spoke with could’ve been more knowledgeable, caring and the dentist should specify on their web page if they cannot help patients with health issues due to their medical insurance. The receptionist on my initial visit was lovely.

So friendly, we travel from Berkshire because the treatment we receive care and advisc is worth the trip, would so recommend.

Friendliness of staff.

Two separate appointments within a week. One with Irini (dentist) and Nicki (dental nurse) and the other with Eli (hygienist). All an absolute credit to the Holmes Dental Practice. I was made to feel at ease from arrival at the reception through to the respective procedures. A great rapport between the teams and light hearted. I will look forward to my next visit with less intrepidation. I would definitely recommend this practice, high quality delivery and cost competitiveness.

Every person I met was welcoming, polite and happy to help. For many months I have been extremely worried about where I could go for top class treatment. When I visited the practice I was given hope for the future. Barry was wonderful and so was everyone else.
