The Dentist who I saw was amazing, good communication skills and had a very delicate touch. I usually hate dentists but this was quite literally life changing, thank you.

Great experience 5 stars, I struggle with dental work but today I was showed amazing patience and skill giving me time to calm myself down and not forcing me through the experience. Every person from reception to dentist made me feel comfortable and welcome and I really appreciate it as I called last minute.

A filling fell out early yesterday morning and my lower jaw throbbed in pain.

It was no good...I was overdue a dental checkup visit anyway, so rang the surgery and begged to be seen quickly to be put out of my misery.

Unfortunately the molar tooth couldn't be saved as it had lost part of the wall, plus an upper molar was also broken. No wonder they have been giving me discomfort in recent months!

Knowing if I only agreed to one extraction and would chicken out on the next booking for the other to be done, I trust my Dentist Ammar Salmon to remove both.

I reminded myself how animals in laboratories are often tested on without any anaesthetic so was grateful for the mercy being injected into me.

Whilst out in the waiting room allowing the numbing to take affect, an old schoolfriend Jane greeted me with concern...she was seeing the Dental Hygienist and we reminisced about the old happy days.

Ammar kept checking that I wasn't allergic to anything and was in general good health, then tested to see if I could feel any pain. No...jjust pressure.
He extracted the lower molar first which had been hurting me so much. I closed my eyes shut tightly and held my breath as he wiggled and twisted on the tooth...and suddenly it came out!

He quickly stopped the bleeding and took the upper tooth out. This one was close to one of my sinuses...he showed me on the X-ray, but I instinctively knew he wouldn't cause it any damage.

So, thankfully I was given my teeth as a trophy to show my friends and the chemist said I could make them into a pair of earrings, when I went to get the antibiotics Ammar had prescribed, as the gums were infected.

Anyways, I am really grateful he took so much care and didn't make me suffer for long...he could have postponed doing the procedures but must have known I'd have been too afraid to come back.

He is a fabulous dentist and has a lovely, cheerful personality. I feel safe in his capable hands!

I admit to going home in shock though, as I never expected to lose two teeth I've had for 60 years of chewing toffees!

And at least I am now free of a potential emergency visit over the coming festive period, had I not gone and sought help.

Thank you again Ammar! I shall be in again to see the Hygienist in January and then back with you to discuss improving my neglected overall dental health.

Much gratitude

I’m a patient of the previous dentist and moved over to practice when it was sold. Dr Bahn is kind, considerate works hard to make each visit relaxing and comfortable. I love chatting with her and she’s looking after me to a high standard. As a nervous patient, having trust is important. I have it with Dr Bahn and the staff from reception to dental assistants. Thank you for keeping my smile x

It's such a friendly atmosphere
I used to dread the dentist but then who didn't
Anyway, Opal Dental is a completely different experience
From stepping through the door to be met with the smiling face of the receptionist, and I'm sorry I don't know her name, to being seen by the dentist it is all good.
