Very good experience, staff were friendly and helpful

After four cancellations over the last few months, it was something to get a dental appointment with Joao yesterday. He was very kind and thorough when doing my check up (despite my being around five minutes late) which was carried out quite quickly to keep within the appointment duration. However, he was very understanding of my Autism and explained everything clearly when he deemed my teeth A1 fit. And I didn't need to have a polish either. I asked his advice about the toothpaste and he said what I was using is fine.

My experience with Charlotte at Reception was not a happy one, however. When I booked the appointment the previous week, the lady who dealt with it said that I didn't have to pay anything as it was a 'making amends' gesture to make up for the cancelled appointments on their part. One would think this would have been logged into the system. Yet, apparently Charlotte was not aware of this and tried to charge me for the check up. She presented a handwritten paper showing the tariffs, which I had never been made aware of. The paper bore no NHS Logo. I tactfully disputed this and the charge got waived eventually, but I was told that I will have to pay next time. From my view, she was rather blunt to the point of rudeness, when she didn't need to be and I feel that that it doesn't send out a favourable message to clients urging them to use the service again.

My dentist was very kind, pleasant and put me at ease

Receptionist was very nice and friendly. I had a tooth out and an impression made to add teeth on my denture. The dentist Harry was so nice, friendly and reassuring, which made it less painful ten out of ten to him.

Welcomed on arrival by friendly but professional reception staff. Consultation began on time. Issues discussed, X-ray undertaken & next steps agreed all under 10 mins. Left feeling reassured in good hands.

I went to my dentist this morning with some toothache and was given an appointment later the same day and was then referred to hospital for further examination and that will occur Fri following my Thursday consultation. I'm impressed by the prompt service.
