Hygiene Appointment

Thank you for emergency treatment today. Excellent service and care, much appreciated.

I find my dentist rather condescending and lacking in basic social skils.
Dissapointing but service otherwise ok and professional.

We waited approximately 15 minutes for my daughter’s NHS dental check-up appointment. The dentist briefly examined her teeth and stated that they appeared to be in good condition; however, the appointment itself lasted no more than three minutes, which felt insufficient for a routine check-up.

I asked whether my daughter’s teeth could be cleaned, as I understand that during a routine check-up, if no treatment is required, appropriate preventive care and oral hygiene support should be considered. I was informed that a clean was not necessary. This has been our experience not only at this visit, but also at my daughter’s previous check-up.

While I understand that NHS guidance does not specify an exact appointment length, it does set expectations around providing a proper examination, preventive advice, and appropriate care. Appointments of such short duration raise concerns about whether these expectations are being met.

I find it difficult to understand the value of attending regular check-ups and the use of NHS funding when the service provided appears so limited. This experience feels unfair and has left me concerned about the quality and consistency of care being delivered.
