My experience

I am reviewing on behalf of my mother.
She is profoundly deaf, elderly and has dementia and other mh concerns.
I received a phone call from the dentist who was uncertain of her capacity to consent as she was confused. (She did have an escort - but not me as I am in New Zealand).
The dentist was speaking very rapidly. Mum can give consent at the time BUT the information must be given in an approximate form (written - clear slow speech etc) as per Mental Capacity Act. This may mean that as in the Equality Act a reasonable adjustment of a longer appointment may be required. My impression was that neither were accommodated. But of course they may have been.
I am unable to comment on treatment received as I have no feedback from the dentist - I used to get this as mum is not able to use the phone and may well have forgotten by the time she gets home. I would appreciate some information please - text or email is fine!

Jenni is always very gentle and takes the time to explain and advise. For example, I use an electric tooth brush. My tooth enamel is beginning to ware thin.. Jenni explained that when a red light begins to flash on my toothbrush It is a warning that I am applying too much pressure.

Emergency appointment

Despite my request for an emergency appointment being made I was immediately given a suitable morning slot. On arrival at the practice I was ushered in to see the Dentist ahead of time. A speedy but thorough examination identified my problem and I was away in about 15 minutes.

Great Dentist

Always pleased with treatment and practice reception is fab, Tracy always remembers your name which is lovely. All staff are friendly. Jane my dentist is wonderful, always makes you feel comfortable, remembers family members and great dentist, can’t find any fault with her practice, would recommend anyone
