St John's Dental Practice

The receptionist very kindly fitted me in when l rang in with toothache.

Kinga and her assistant did my checkup in her usual kind, gentle and professional way. Unfortunately the young lady receptionist wasn’t so professional in her role. There was no welcome smile, I was handed the tablet to sign and although I’d given her my name she didn’t address me by name. There was no smile and no welcome which I feel are important, as even at my age there’s often a certain nervousness on arrival. Even though she appeared to be mentored or supervised by another female member of staff sitting casually behind her, she was chewing gum and laughing with her or disappearing into another office while other patients waited to be attended to. I noticed this was her general manner with all the other patients arriving or leaving the practice. By contrast the young man who took my payment afterwards and made a future appointment was polite, helpful and smiling. I’ve been attending the practice for nearly ten years and have never had reason to feel dissatisfied in this way. So I hope the practice manager will find the opportunity to give some necessary training, explanation and support to the lady receptionist concerned. Thank you.

I was contacted by the dentist to say that my appointment needed to be rescheduled and so I booked an early appointment the following week, as I work. When I got there this morning they left me waiting around for 30 minutes without letting me know there were any delays and so I asked the receptionist how long and all she said was I was next, then an older lady asked how long she was going to be as she’d been waiting for 45 minutes. So I left. They’re not very good at communicating with the patient either.

Quick appointment, next day after requesting, broken tooth done at once, friendly and calm pain-free experience.

Both the Hygienist are dentist are exceptional. They make a visit to the dentist a pleasure!
