Fantastic dentists and I’ve had quite a few and all were excellent, talk everything through with you and are very gentle and caring staff from dental nurses to all the receptionists. So sorry to be leaving as they are no longer treating NHS patients.

My experience
Hygiene appointment, great service, detailed description of treatment from the hygienist.
My only issue, I had good oral hygiene, minimal treatment required, was in less than 15 minutes yet I paid the same as anyone who with bad oral hygiene requiring more time.
I appreciate that its a standard cost but should be based on length or treatment required

Thanks for the feedback and the 5 stars Andrea and it's great that you keep your mouth so well looked after that you don't need too much intervention from us.
Perhaps you could discuss this with your dentist and ask if less frequent appointments might be appropriate.
Your notion of charging for time rather than for the appointment is one we've looked at and could equally be applied to fillings, root treatments etc.
It would be very difficult to issue treatment estimates as we do for each patient if we charged by the minute and might give our patient relationships a very different vibe.
Please also bear in mind that patients with demanding gum issues are often asked to book 3,4,or 5 visits with the hygiene/therapists and would therefore pay 3,4,or 5 times as much. Some patients additionally visit every 12, 8 or even 6 weeks.
Your idea is one which we have considered before. I do hope what I outline makes our thinking on this clear.
