I was very happy with the treatment received this morning from both Sophie and Thelma, I cannot fault either of them.
I was however very unhappy with the way in which I was informed that the practice will no longer be treating NHS patients and that in fact, those were my last NHS treatments. Very poorly handled and very disappointing that it was left up to the dentist and the hygienist to inform me of the position. I would have expected that patients might have been informed formally by letter by the practice management of the upcoming change in our relationship. Very disappointing.

We are very glad that you are happy with Sophie and Thelma and the treatment you received, but regret that the communications were considered poor on our part.
It is unfortunate that we caused you unhappiness in the communications we made with you, but it's not through want of trying. We decided after much discussion and consideration, that we would rather discuss ongoing care with our patients face to face, rather than send out letters which we considered a blunter, less personal approach.
Of course no one approach is better for everyone, which is why we also give a letter when we inform peopel that they have their last course of NHS treatment with us.
We are not ending our NHS commitment to all our patients nor ending that commitment all at once. For the moment, we are finishing treatments already started then giving patients the option of remaining with us on privately or contacting NHS Fife to find a new NHS dentist.
It may be, in future, that we will have to carry out a mail shot, but for the moment we have tried to avoid that.
We are sorry our approach disappointed you.
If you require any further help from us or assistance in finding an NHS dentist, do get in touch.
Overall, how was your experience of our service?
Neither good nor poor
