Thank-you for your review. I am glad that you are happy with your dentist. You were probably advised that we could not offer you another course of NHS treatment after this one, but could either book your next exam privately or go on a waiting list for future NHS care.
3/4 of dental practices in the UK have unfilled vacancies and there is a shortage of dentists willing to take up NHS lists. We have just had another real-terms cut.
If we have success recruiting or if there are positive changes to the NHS system we may be able to continue treating NHS patients. I qualified 39 years ago and hardly any of my colleagues wanted to work outside the NHS. It's not us who have changed.
I do keep a close eye on developments within the general dental service of the NHS and those in charge of it. I see little cause for optimism.

excellent service all round,
In future i would like to be asked, and told i would be having an X-ray that i would be paying for!
I was not aware of the cost until being escorted back to the main reception.
But overall an excellent dentist, thoroughly recommend

Thank-you Paul. Yes, it's always good to advise of cost and although NHS exams are free, x-rays do carry a charge. The thing is, that they usually come before we have formulated a treatment plan and written estimate. I think that we maybe get a bit overloaded with things to think about, but I will take an advice to the team at our practice meeting next Tuesday to remember to mention x-ray fees.
