Always feel like second class citizen
Went in for check up. Dentist said I needed some work so went to book in again for it but was told that dentist is changing hours to days I work and I can't take time off as self employed. The receptionist found another dentist for me to see instead but said I wouldn't be able to move dentists again in future as I'm NHS. I asked how that can be if this is no fault of mine that they've changed their hours and if the next one does the same what can I do? Because I'm changing dentists, I have to fork out for another check up appointment before I can then have the work done. I understand that these things happen but the receptionist had absolutely no empathy or care for this situation. No apology for the inconvenience and made me feel like it was my fault that I could not do the days the dentist has decided to work.
I've never disliked going to a dentist but I do now. Not due to the dentistry but due to how 2nd class the receptionists make you feel as if you're a NHS patient. Are they nicer and more accommodating if you're private? Who knows?
