Lloyd Blackman comes across as a very caring and understanding dentist. My problem is this is the first time I have been signed up to practice this big and understand all too well the pressures of business, so do not like to take up the time of a busy man with my problems.
I had root canal treatment on the 13th January 2020 and was asked to give it at least three months for it to settle down. It had taken longer than Lloyd had originally thought it would to do the treatment, due to the length of the roots even after he originally thought it would be quite an easy procedure. I think an extra 25 minutes, there has been some success. The tooth doesn't appear to be sensitive any more, but up to a couple of days ago I was unable to put my tongue on the filling, as it didn't like the pressure, but l have taken an anti-inflammatory tablet for a backache and that seems to have made it slightly more comfortable. I was asked to think about What was to happen due to the discomfort, if I would like to have the tooth removed or be referred to a specialist for more root canal treatment or just let it settle down. Now I can rule the world, in my mind I can, but I found this was something I needed to sleep on, as I said to Lloyd I was not happy with the thought of having the tooth taken out anywhere else, apart from the hospital due to history of what has gone before. It's a shame these details are not passed from dentist to dentist and all would be explained. Last teeth were taken out at the hospital and I had to have an overnight stay.
I was very grateful to the practice for fitting me in yesterday and to the kindness that Mr Blackman showed me but still very unclear what to do next. I have asked to be referred to the oral surgeon at the hospital to maybe help with this situation. Sorry to go on so long.

I was in for a routine checkup, didn’t have to wait to long past my appointment time. Dentist was very friendly and helpful giving me advice.

When phoning for an emergency dental appointment, disappointed to be transferred to message machine at 1440hrs. Was phoned back at 1700hrs when it was too late for an appointment, that day. There followed 22hrs of pain before being treated. Better , perhaps, to be placed in a phone queue. As always, when actually attending the surgery, receptionists, dental nurse and of course Lloyd Payne were first class, really terrific. Observation was more to do with policy concerning phone calls, especially when urgent.

This was my first appointment and very pleased. Very Friendly staff. Dentist Tom put me at ease and explained all aspects of my checkout and follow on treatment. Also my appointment was on time with no delay or long wait.

My husband and I was most impressed with our first visit to Parkway Dental, a lovely bright entrance and reception area, The dentist was informative of what he was doing a nice friendly atmosphere to put you at ease.
