After 35 years with my former dentist I have had to sign up to a new Practice as he had retired. Given that I had become used to my former dentist I was VERY IMPRESSED with Lloyd Payne during the introductory examination. Polite, thorough and careful. Short Notice Appointment for a Nick in my Front Tooth
After eating a meal I discovered there was a nick in my front tooth. I phoned for an appointment and was given one in only 3 working days time, which I was very pleased about. When I saw my Dentist (Lloyd Payne) he gave me 2 options of treatment: to file the nick and leave it as it was or to have a filling put in the nick. I questioned the robustness of the filling on a front tooth and he assured me there was an edge for the filling to adhere to as well as a suitably coarse general surface for the filling to adhere to. I chose the filling and he offered to do the treatment there and then, which again was great, saving another visit to the Dentists. He told me the pricing category on the NHS scale and soon performed the procedure using a white composite filling. It is impossible to see the filling and it was quick and painless. Excellent for helping anxious patients
My visit to the Dentist today, as have my last visits been a pleasure.. I am always scared, up tight, nervous about going to the dentist and have been for many years... Ever since the School Dentist and I’m now 51. I also have a very short Gag Reflex..
Today, I have been for a filling and my dentist and her nurse are Brilliant making me feel relaxed and comfortable.. my next check up I might even try to go by myself... That would be a real achievement and only down to the patients of the staff at the practice... A Huge Thank You.

Fantastic dental practice
Everybody I had any contact with was polite and professional. The receptionists are friendly and efficient. The dentist I’ve seen put me at ease within the first 5 minutes and I trust her to carry out any dental treatment. The dentist took the time to answer any questions I had with very thorough and knowledgeable answers.

Very mixed bag
Having waited months for an appointment I was unimpressed to have it cancelled on the day due to staff sickness. I called and was surprised and relieved to get a replacement appointment the next week (my partner had to wait another month when the same thing happened to him with the hygienist the week before!) although my workplace were not impressed as I had to change my shifts on short notice. When I came to the appointment I found I had a new dentist, she was lovely, had a very reassuring manor and I was very pleased. When I went to book my follow up appointments I was told she was leaving before my next check up, disappointing and hopefully the next one will last a bit longer and be just as good.
