Superfast Emergency Appointment

I telephone on a Monday morning asking for an urgent appointment as my tooth had broken off at the weekend. I was given an appointment to attend two hours later. When I arrived for my appointment I was called in straightaway. Excellent!

Recent visit

On a recent visit I was unable to see on display neither in the waiting room, nor in the treatment, any details of charges. For 25 years plus I have merely received 3 minute checkups (I have not been offered scale and clean on the NHS) at £19.70 and then asked to make an appointment for another checkup in 9 months time. I have often been asked by the receptionist to make an appointment with a hygienist privately. Surely if this were a clinical need I should have received a scale and clean from the dentist on the NHS as NHS care.
