As always, really pleased with my hygienist appointment with Carly.
No wait - thorough check and came out feeling like I could keep up the good work!

I was surprised by Mr. Forster's wish to personally extract my impacted wisdom teeth.
These impacted wisdom teeth (which have very occasionally caused toothache) were suggested for removal back in 2018 by Mr. Cotterill (my dentist at your practice at the time). However, he was not prepared to risk doing the work himself, due to the possibility of pulled roots causing damage to nerves passing through to the front of the jaw, the consequence of which could lead to permanent tingling and even loss of feeling in that area. Therefore, I was referred to a specialist dental practice in Fareham. To mitigate the risk of nerve damage, they did a 3D scan of my jaw, which immediately showed nerves running between the impacted teeth roots. Consequently, I was told that removal of these teeth would have to be a precise and delicate procedure in order not to damage these nerves. However, on the day of the operation, their computer system “went down”: I was told by the specialist that he was not prepared to risk the operation of removing my wisdom teeth without continual reference to the x-ray of my jaw. It was several weeks later before there was a vacancy for another appointment. However, in the meantime (thanks to anti-biotics) the toothache had cleared up, so an immediate need for extraction was not required.
Subsequently, on a couple of occasions since (but not recently) I had toothache in this area, but anti-biotics soon cleared this up almost immediately. This seems to me, to be the safest, quickest and lowest-risk option, should the problem ever arise again.

Consequently, that is why I declined Mr. Forster's personal offer of wisdom teeth removal.

However, I have agreed to the replacement of a couple of dropped-out fillings. Also, the removal of plaque on my lower front teeth. Hopefully this will be more delicately performed than a few years ago, which resulted in lots of blood, severe pain and shock afterwards.

Emilie is absolutely wonderful. Very professional but also makes you feel very at ease. I know that the health of my teeth are in great hands and she has really helped me get my teeth in the best conditions. This is the best dental surgery that I have ever used.

Great service as always from hygienist Robyn. I am a very anxious patient and Robyn is always very patient and reassuring throughout my treatments. Both her and her dental nurse/assistant (sadly I can't recall her name) are a credit to Parkway Dental care

I have been seeing Robyn (the Hygienist) for many years she has always made me feel as relaxed as possible whilst doing her work, regularly checking I am ok.

All Staff are welcoming and friendly and calming.
