Hexham Dental Clinic

I came in on Thursday morning 27th May. Always a friendly welcome by the ladies on reception and calm wait in waiting area. One of my routine checks with Alex. Alex is really good, she is friendly and explains everything and most importantly for someone who is a bit squeamish and couldn't do pain etc, she is very gentle and not at all "rough" or aggressive with treatment. Even Alex singing along to the radio when I am in the chair makes me laugh to myself as its quite calming.

Fast efficient examination, painless scale and polish, pleasant mouthwash, and friendly treatment. All in all a good experience.

I had to have an emergency appointment with Simon as I had raging toothache. The whole process from the initial contact with the reception staff organising the appointment to the treatment was great.
Simon was so professional and explained all of the options available as well as diagnosing the cause of the pain very quickly and treating it. I came away from the appointment knowing that I had received the best possible care. Little things make such a big difference - talking to the patient while they are sat upright in a chair rather than lying down with a light blinding them, discussing what will happen in the appointment before anything starts, asking if there are any questions and taking the time to answer them. These may not seem like huge points, but I have been with a practice where the opposite has happened and it makes such a huge difference to how you come away feeling following the appointment.
I only wish you had more space to take on more patients as I am always recommending you to friends and family, especially those who are terrified of the dentist due to bad experiences.

As usual I was treated with care and respect. I travel over twenty miles to attend this dental practice, I have done for over twenty years, this says a lot.

This is quite general and not specifically aimed at HDC. The cost of treatment is generally very high, when compared to other 'grudge spend' activities. Why isn't dental treatment covered on the NHS like medical treatment - what are NI contributions for?

My appointment with Simon today was for some corrective dental work to try and avoid future problems. I have a great dislike/fear of dental work but I can honestly say everybody at the practice does their best to help make any procedures tolerable. Simon is extremely patient, very gentle and I know he will allow stop if I need him to. Exactly what a nervous patient needs. I trust him completely.

This was an emergency appointment for a severe abscess. I phoned at 9 am and was seen at 1 pm by Mathew who is not my usual dentist but who was very professional and efficient. By 1.30 I was on my way again minus a tooth and the abscess.

I had an appointment with Alex Brown the hygienist, she is excellent at her job and always has a friendly word for everyone.

I’m waiting for outcome of treatment but expect it to reflect the very good standards experienced so far.

Very professional friendly staff. Pleased with my treatment for a filling by Simon Lee, made to feel very comfortable and relaxed. Treatment carried out quickly and without too much discomfort, very satisfied with the result.
