Fabulous dental practice. Derek van Staden and his team are the best. They spend time explaining the treatments and genuinely care about their patients. I used to dread my trips to previous dentists but I am no longer a nervous/ anxious patient. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I wanted to send a huge heartfelt thank you to Dr Abdullah and Treatment Co-ordinator Meg for taking such amazing care of our 9 year old son during his treatment. He is neurodiverse, with sensory processing disorder and always needing to know EVERYTHING with 101 questions, I really didn’t think treatment outside of a specialist centre would be possible for him. However, his first experience of dental treatment was a big success. I know it wasn’t easy for Dr Abdullah or Meg, but they were both incredible with him and I absolutely cannot thank them enough. Watching him dancing (sorry for the moving target Dr Abdullah) while you were drilling was a highlight, haha! Thanks again from a very grateful mum!

I had a recent phone appointment to discuss further treatment, a crown, to a tooth which had been stabilised last year. The staff member concerned was most helpful. She explained why a crown was needed now and made me aware of the cost involved and as to payment options. Many thanks.

The airflow is brilliant
I had a hygienist visit today with Kirsty and her nurse Holly. Kirsty was extremely thorough in her assessment of my gums and explained everything she was doing. Both Kirsty and Holly checked on me throughout the clean and airflow procedure and allowed me breaks if I needed. I’ve left my appointment with a fresh feeling mouth and zero staining. The airflow is brilliant and so are Kirsty. Holly and the rest of the team. Well done Team Christchurch. A cut above the rest!

My dental experience with Dr Derek at Christchurch Dentist has been brilliant. He’s kept me smiling now for more than 4 years. If you have a potential implant that needs to happen then Dr Derek is your guy! He walks you carefully through all the options and the steps putting your mind at ease. I’m a speaker by trade so he wanted to make sure I did not have a gap in my smile line. To take care of that issue during the implant process he sorted a temporary to cover the gap! Amazing. Highly recommend his skills and compassion with his patients.

Had my first hygienist appointment today and I was bricking it. The last time I had an attempt at a hygiene appointment it felt like my teeth were being pulled out at the root. However my experience today with Kirsty and Holly was totally different! I warned them at the start of the appointment that I really was nervous but they kept me informed the whole way through my appointment and gave me so much reassurance and comfort breaks explaining to me the different feelings I was getting in my gums. My teeth feel and look amazing following my appointment and I now have a much better idea on how to keep it that way. I keep smiling my biggest smile at everyone I know which I haven't done for years. I even had someone ask if I had done whitening! No they were just that good! 110% recommend to anyone who's nervous!
