Routine 6 monthly inspection

Considering this was a very early appointment, everything worked very well and I was happy about the outcome. The Reception seemed very busy with early telephone callers, but never the less found time to come from behind the counter and speak to me on a one to one basis knowing that I was slightly disabled. The dental inspection was also carried out sympathetically.

First check-up since Andrew Smith's retirement

Is it just me, or are dentists getting younger?

Having been under the care of Andrew Smith since my arrival in Kendal in 1987, and having always found Andrew to be thoughtful, careful and empathic in his practice, this first appointment with new (to me) dentist Jack Waterhouse was always going to be interesting. So let me say at the outset that my first impressions are very positive. The young man introduced himself, and his dental assistant Kat, immediately on my entrance to the treatment room, and with a handshake. His manner was informal and friendly, and he was clear in his questioning, giving information, or making suggestions or recommendations about ongoing treatment of my teeth. He even (very like Andrew used to) had time for a little chat about which pubs I could recommend in Kendal.

So, it probably is just me - dentists aren't getting younger, just I'm getting older.
