Wanted to check up regarding my dry mouth. I was put at ease and now finding help with my Sjögren's. I didn’t realise that it caused so many problems. Lee my dentist was great and is helping me with this. I have somethings to try and hope that it eases my Sjögren's flare up. So pleased I’m getting help for it.

New patient first visit
I rang to make an appointment as a new patient but the phone line was down. I used the email facility and received a prompt reply outlining what I needed to do. I booked my first appointment online and paid. When I arrived I was greeted with a smile and was dealt with promptly. I forgot to mention I had mobility issues. I was asked if I could manage stairs ( which I could) and told a note would be placed on my file so I was seen in a downstairs surgery on future visits. The Dentist was kind, considerate, patient and listened to me. I was given a treatment plan which was explained before I left.

On my last check up I was told I needed two extractions. Claire and Sam discussed this with me and, as I have a bad gag reflex, the risks of sedation. I have had sedation before but since then have had heart surgery and am on some serious meds. Their advice was not to have sedation. They advised, instead, I should buy anti travel sickness bands from Boots and wear those. I did and they worked a treat. During the extraction. I didn’t gag once. That’s a first. The first tooth came out quickly. I’ll return in a few months for the other one.

Made sure I was comfortable
I was put at ease straight away, as I am very nervous.
The dentist explained everything, and made sure I was comfortable, and that anaesthetic had worked before taking out the tooth, which was pain-free.
I am unable to open my mouth very wide, but this did not faze the dentist, who I cannot praise highly enough. Nice friendly receptionist. Thanks again.
