My experience
Recently had a hygienist appointment, and it was a new hygienist I hadn't seen before. She was kind, but it felt a little rougher than any hygienist I'd seen before. She cut my cheek with one of her tools and I was tasting blood for hours after the appointment. Also was going so far into my cheek the high pitched noise of the tool was deafening in my ears that I had to ask her to stop numerous times, on top of triggered sensitivity in my teeth. She did stop with the electric tools after many requests to stop due to my discomfort, and it's a bit confusing as I've never found hygienist visits to be comfortable, but this was the most painful hygienist appointment I've had before.
