I undertook a complicated root canal procedure conducted by Minesh Taank. I was pain free throughout the hour it took and the whole thing was stress free. At all times I was kept informed of what was happening and at no point was I worried. I would recommend this dental practice as all the staff are so professional and friendly.

I had some treatment today to prepare my tooth for a crown. The care and treatment by not only the dentist but his nurse were second to none. I’m losing gradually my fear of dentists, that is thanks to Sherwood.

I cannot recommend this dental practice enough. After suffering with a dental phobia for many years there comes a point where you just have to go. I attended for an appointment and found out I needed two extractions. The dentist and assistant were fantastic and although I was paying via the nhs I felt I was having private treatment. I wanted to give a thorough review. So thought my journey might be useful for others. Not knowing the area I decided to trust the reviews and saw that this one was the highest ranking nhs practice so I went on their website and booked over their website. However the next morning my pain was severe and so I rang for an emergency appointment. They fitted me in immediately and in the same day they replied from the form I had sent. So good communication.
As I drove to the place I saw an old terraced building and thought ‘oh no, like the olden times’ but as I got nearer I saw that it was an old building that had been beautifully modernised. On entering the colour scheme (blues) and uniforms were friendly and inviting. Modern ways of signing for treatment (although first form was on paper). I thought I had entered a Harley street cosmetic surgery practice. It was beautiful. Reception staff were friendly and everyone in their uniforms looked well presented. The dentists from what I could see had their normal tops on but wore trendy trousers and looked cool, casual and professional. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and professional.
I went for my first check and they have modern equipment. After having previous private treatment they were matching if not exceeding what they had. The dentist was absolutely lovely and I explained my anxiety. Friendly smiles all the time from the assistant. When he said I need two teeth taken out I immediately went into panic. I asked did I have to. He was not pushy and said ‘well it could damage the other teeth and lead to more pain in the future’. I asked him what he thought and he said take them out in one go. I felt I could trust him and I said ‘but I don’t think I can go through with it’ and he said confidently ‘with me you will be fine’. This direct approach actually gave me confidence, so I paid my £62 and booked in.
On the day of the appointment, the dentist himself came down to get me, ten minutes before my appointment as I was early and asked me how I was feeling and just chattered. I believe they didn’t want to let me wait.
I went into the room, chit chats, info etc and he gave me the anaesthetic and I really didn’t feel any pain and then he took the teeth out. They have a tv above you with subtitles and I think this is brilliant. I seriously tried to focus on this and having to read and watch uses two areas of the brain which does reduce anxiety. However two things that I noticed were different - he asked me to stay with him whilst waiting for the aesthetic to work. I actually think this helped with my nerves as we chatted and I didn’t go through the stage that I would previously whilst sitting outside - what if it wears off... have they forgotten about me ... what if it doesn’t work...and other panics.
He took the teeth out and showed me on my arm the sort of pressure I would feel. 8.50 in and by 9.15 I was at home.
Also they packed my teeth really well. Overall I love this dentist and wanted to kiss him at the end and run around with joy. I am currently asking permission to mention his name and the assistants name for this review. He was gentle, kind, confident, relaxed and it didn’t hurt one bit. Sleepless nights for nothing!

Saw the hygenist on 20th Feb all I can say is omg amazing, she is brilliant I think her name was Janet.... just fabulous made me feel comfortable and at ease. The end result was stunning. Thank you so much cant wait to see her again in may.
