My impression somewhat spoiled when I went to pay by being told ‘card only’ we don’t accept cash!
I do not use cards any more. I use cash as I see many sectors of society who need it. Eventually I persuaded them to accept cash and keep it until tomorrow as they had already been to the bank. ( I never understood why you would need to go to the bank if you don’t accept cash? Bank the card dockets??) I was told, well you Can’t have a receipt. (I’m not sure that’s legal, pretty sure it’s not. )
I do know that as legal tender it needs to be accepted, and I hope and trust this off-putting policy will change at least for NHS patients -who have not signed a contract to the contrary- and whose taxes support the NHS.

Friendly staff who made you feel at ease. Appointment booked at short notice and I was seen on time. Great treatment and advice. Simply the best dentist ever. Thank you!

Professionalism, kindness and overall feeling at ease.

My request was ignored.

I asked, “can we not go for the root canal?” and got the reply, “No, I want to save the tooth.”
(When did a patient not have a say in the treatment they receive?)

Instead, the dentist Rebecca proceeded to give me a filling which can have an interdental brush inserted and has space to wriggle but no exit point on the other side of the tooth line. Imagine what happens to food with the same pathway.

I am now in an excruciating amount of pain and have not had a full nights sleep in weeks since the pain began.

I tried raising my hand to ask questions about the procedure and was told to “stay open! I don’t want bacteria getting in.” quite effectively stopping any input I had to give over the care of my own mouth. Did Rebecca not have implements to wash out cavities in her patients mouths?

Never before have I felt pinned to a dentists chair. Usually if I go to speak the dentist and assistant both spring back to allow me space to question their actions and freedom to leave should I want.

At a previous visit I expressed concern over pain I was and still am feeling in another part of my jaw. Rebecca (the same dentist) said, “Don’t worry about that.”
Am I to ignore the pain I can feel?

I am in excruciating pain and I’m going to have to pay for a root canal on top of the filling I was just given when I requested a root canal.

I am also going to have to pay for treatment of the pain in the other part of my jaw which I could not express due to me having to “stay open. I don't want any bacteria to get in.”

Perhaps the dentist, Rebecca, and her assistant, Annalise, will be praised for their money-making efforts by this practice but I am in incrementally increasing amounts of pain with each passing day.

I have always felt comfortable and relaxed here, even though I have an acute fear of attending dental appointments. Every member of staff I interact with always has a smile and is very friendly and personable.

I have been going to that dentist for a long time and the rest of my family do as well, the staff are nice and polite and I have never had a bad experience there.
