First-class treatment

Dentist always takes great care. First-class treatment.
On this occasion, I hesitated to fully explain there was still a tiny rough spot left that needed smoothing off.
It was hard to explain exactly where on the tooth it was. I tried but clearly the dentist thought it was all smooth.
Anyway, I think I can live with it.
A persisting complaint I have had is that I feel pressure not to talk or explain where I may have questions.

My experience

The dental hygeinist was polite, empathic and professional.
The problem was that my gum health had deteriorated due to my dentist leaving the practice and my not being offered an appointment for over a year when I had been receiving appointments every three months. I should have been allocated to an alternative dentist, not made to wait for over a year so I am angry about this.

Stress free experience

The dentist and dental nurse were both professional but very friendly and put me at my ease very quickly. Each step of my dental treatment was explained to me by the dentist prior to beginning that stage. I was also given very clear instructions on aftercare. The whole team made my experience stress free.

My experience

The overall experience was good. A concern is that an estimate is given in advance of the work required but that doesn't seem to relate to how much the charge actually is. Eg I had two hygiene appointments, the estimate was £69 for each but I was charged £79 and £158 . When I enquired why I was told they can vary depending on the work involved. The work was fairly as expected and no extra work was required as far as I could see.
