My experience

That appointment availability is getting less and less, I am now waiting 7 months for a check up instead of 6. This will cause more dental problems as care isn't as available. Yet go private, and seen within a week? This should not be the case. X-rays seem to be pushed a lot on each check up. I was told it had been two years since my last x-ray, yet I explained it had been 6 months as I had one in my last check up. I was then told the system didn't show this until looking deeper, and an apology was given. Yet it was on the system as the assistant clearly stated this after it was queried. In future, unless I'm in pain and a diagnosis isn't given, I will decline all x-rays! They come with health risks such as cancer and should not been offered every 6 months!

Apologies for the wait for your next check up. Unfortunately we have one NHS dentist and she is trying to accommodate everyone. If you get any problems before your check up please contact us and we will be able to book you an emergency appointment.

I understand your concerns relating to dental X-rays, please be reassured that the radiation from intra-oral X-rays is very minimal and deem a very low risk.
