If it wasn't for the dental nurse being pleasant and engaging then it would have been a 1. It was our 1st visit and I had quite a few questions, whilst the dentist answered them it felt like she couldn't wait to get us out of the door quick enough.

Leaving Patients with Loose Wire in their mouth for 1 week

My son came back from University in Birmingham yesterday to attend an appointment in the Newport Pagnell branch of Teeth in Line today; to have his braces updated/adjusted. Within an hour of the treatment one of the brackets holding the wire in place had come away and had to be spat out, leaving loose wire in my son's mouth. When we called back to get the issue fixed we were told that the Newport Pagnell office closes early on a Friday...(lucky them!). We were offered an appointment starting in 15 minutes at the Oldbrook branch in Milton Keynes...when it would take us 25 minutes to get there.
We took the chance of popping into the Newport branch to secure a repair only to be told that everyone was at lunch. In the end we gave up and my son now has to return again next Friday from Birmingham (assuming there are no further Covid restrictions in place at that time) to try and seek a repair...and let's hope the loose wire does not cause any damage.

Is this really the appropriate duty of care offered to patients?

Thank you for your feedback, we are very sorry to hear of the problems you have encountered. We are confident our team would have assisted your son if we had a clinician available at the time you returned but unfortunately there was no-one available. We did offer alternative appointments but with your son away at University, these were not suitable for him and he was unable to re-attend until the end of the week. Unfortunately brackets can dis-place for a number of reasons and whilst it is not an emergency to get it replaced, we do try our best to respond as quickly as we can to avoid pro-longing orthodontic treatment. We feel we did our best to help but sadly due to the limitations of your sons ability to return to see us, this is the reason our assistance took longer than we would normally expect.

Great experience

The experience has been great so far, my daughter is soon moving from a retainers to fixed braces and the results have been fabulous to see.
