Thank you for your feedback regarding the late arrival of the Dentist. Dr Siddiqui did unfortunately arrive 10mins late on the day of your visit. We are sorry too if you have experienced this on 2 occasions. It is quite unusual for her to arrive late but it was an unavoidable delay for which she is really sorry. Our reception team did make her patient aware and apologise as we are very conscientious about time-keeping. We are sure you appreciate that these things do happen from time to time but we do appreciate the inconvenience it causes.

We are sorry about keeping you waiting outside in the cold and appreciate that it's not nice getting wet and cold.
Although the practice is closed before 8:30am and between 1pm-2pm, if you buzz at the door in bad weather conditions and if we have staff available, they will allow patient's earlier access if it's possible and safe for us to do so.

We are sorry to hear of your unhappiness following your recent visit to Newport Pagnell Dental Brian and would like to express that the procedures offered to you are preventative strategies, aimed at helping to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
Radiographs (x-rays) are routinely offered in accordance with FGDP Dental Guidance at Check-Up Appointments as the results can really help us with early diagnose and are used to aid treatment planning. Radiographs provide much more detailed information, showing us things that may not be evident on oral examination.
The clean you refer to is a Scale & polish treatment performed by the Dentist and is offered to remove stains and the hardened dental plaque (calculus) that forms on teeth above the gum line. This treatment is also offered at the Check-Up Appointment as a preventative measure to help reduce the risk of bacteria building up which can lead to gum inflammation (gingivitus). The clean with the Dentist is not the same as a Hygienist treatment as once the obvious staining and calculus has been removed, there is no indication to keep cleaning. A Hygiene treatment would be more thorough and take longer but is only recommended when it is needed.
Both these treatments are optional offerings, you don't have to have them and you can choose to decline. We appreciate that each additional treatment has a bearing on the total cost of the appointment but our fees are very competitive with other Dental Providers and we firmly believe they both support maintaining healthy teeth and gums and can help avoid dental problems in the future.
