We are really sorry to hear you were unhappy following your recent appointment at Newport Pagnell Dental. At your last check-up, the Dentist took Bitewing Radiographs which detected the need for the filling on your back tooth. Bitewings are generally taken every 6 months or annually as part of a check up and are used to help detect any signs of decay or fractures in Molars and Pre-molars. Unfortunately a Bitewing Radiograph does not capture images of the front teeth as well which is why you needed to have a second radiograph for the problem with a front tooth a week later. I am really sorry if our team did not explain the difference in the Radiographs to you and the reason why a second radiograph was necessary. However it was essential to enable the Dentist to resolve the problem and discomfort you were experiencing, which we sincerely hope is now better.
We will of course share your feedback with the Dentist so that they are aware of the confusion this caused you and to ensure they make this clearer in future for patients.

Thank you for your feedback following your recent experience at Newport Pagnell Dental Practice.
Whilst we appreciate it can feel a bit repetitive completing a Medical History every visit, it is a regulatory requirement for the dental industry so not something we can avoid asking you to do. You might be surprised too by how much people's information does change, particularly medications, health conditions or contact information so it does ensure we have the most up to date information about you to keep our records and medical information current and ensure we can look after you safely.
On a more encouraging note, the Medical History is available online now which does make it easier and it can be done ahead of your visit too.

Thank you for reaching out with your feedback. We are really sorry to hear that you felt anxious with our new dentist and completely understand how hard it is when your regular dentist is unable to see you. Unfortunately as Dr Desmond is not undertaking clinical duties at the moment, she is unable to see you. However, we can arrange for you to come in and chat to her replacement Dr Arun, to help her understand your dental anxiety better for future visits or if you would prefer, you can see another member of our team for future visits.
