Chilwell Dental Practice

This was my first visit to this practice and I must say they were very welcoming and efficient.
I was looked after very well and everything was explained completely and I was extremely happy with the work that was carried out.

Usually I see both the Hygienist then see Ash in one trip but this time I have to return to see the Hygienist. Today’s visit with Ash was excellent

I have been a patient of this practice for about 20 years and have always been happy with the treatment and with the way the staff themselves have treated me.
However, I was very frustrated by the new registration system by tablet. I have 6 prescription medications (and I know people with many more) which would have taken quite some time to key in and I would not have been able to remember the strength of each of them. I could have been prepared for this if, amongst all the reminders sent to me, there had been any notification that this new procedure had been adopted. In the past, I was able simply to update and sign manuscript information as necessary but it appears that this laborious tablet process is going to be required at every appointment. I was told by a receptionist that I could bring my prescriptions with me and have them scanned in but, again, no mention of this had been given me before I turned up at the surgery. Overall, it seems to me to be a poorly designed procedure and poorly implemented - bearing all the hallmarks of a change imposed from above by distant managers without consulting the frontline staff.

In trying to leave this review, I have found that the ‘Working Feedback’ software, which I first tried to use, also does not work. I filled out the form fully twice over, checked it through carefully - and each time it would not file, insisting that I had left a question unanswered. Which I hadn't.

Excellent service from the dentist today - she explained what treatment was needed in a professional manner without making me feel like a child which previous dentist at another practice had done.
