My experience
It cost me £27.40 just for the dentist to look in my mouth. I would like to know what a check up includes because I think for £27.40 they should have been a scrape and a polish as well

As part of your examination, the Dentist will take routine X-rays (if necessary) and assess your need for a scale and polish based on 3 possible outcomes:
1. It may not be deemed necessary
2. 2. If it is deemed necessary, the Dentist may provide this under the NHS band 1 charge of £27.40
3. If your gum health indicates the need for a more extensive clean, the Dentist will refer you to the Hygienist who has the necessary skills and clinical time to provide this service. This generates an NHS band 2 charge of £75.30
Please note that if you wish to access our Hygienist service at any time, this may be done on a private basis at a fee of £98.00. This 30- minute appointment includes a detailed gum health assessment, cleaning, polishing and individually tailored advice for optimal home care.

Park Dental Care
The service I received was good over whole but the dentis kept asking if I flossed. I said I didn't find it easy to floss but I did brush twice daily with an electric toothbrush. Then I was told I had gum disease which was a shock as I do clean my teeth regularly. Then I was told I needed a deep clean and needed to be punished. I feel sometimes the dentist can make you feel like a naughty schoolboy at times insisting on things you can't do. Also, I think some of the staff could have a more friendly approach and call you by your first name instead of being formal all the time. I like people who are friendly and helpful. It makes me feel welcome and less stressed about going to the dentist.

Your Dentist or Hygienist will ask about current home care practices and provide tailored advice accordingly to improve your oral health. In relevant cases a referral to the Hygienist is recommended for further advice and treatment. Again, this is patient specific and is intended to benefit and improve oral health. The Hygienist will be able to demonstrate alternative products and techniques which may be more suitable.
Our approach is professional and we usually greet our patients formally unless invited to use first names. If you have personal preferences on how you wish to be addressed, please let a team number know and we will update your records.

Friendly, excellent dentist and care. Only joined the practice as a private patient a year and a half ago and my mouth is the best it’s ever been. Highly recommend Sama. Really lovely, extremely competent dentist

I would advise that you review the fees of other practices to confirm this. Fee increases align with rising costs affecting businesses nationally. Factors which influence this upturn include increased National Minimum Wage, changes to National Insurance contributions and the inflated cost of materials, equipment and utilities and are in line with the cost of goods and services in other sectors. Through "Practice Plan", we offer a membership payment plan that enables patients to spread the cost via monthly direct debit along with discounts on certain treatments.
