Sandygate Dental Practice

Ive been going to Sandygate for a few years after struggling to find an NHS dentist. Ive always previously gone NHS, but i would say Sandygate has been the best dentist I've been too. John is lovely and personable, never makes you feel rushed and shows genuine care / interest. Appointments seem a lot more thorough than when ive gone elsewhere.
Everyone is really polite and helpful, the reception team are lovely and cant do enough to help. You also get text reminders and offers of swapping to a new appointment if they have a cancellation which is really useful. Would wholly reccommend

I visited the dentist for a routine six monthly check up. Everything was ok and didn't require any treatment. All the staff were friendly and efficient.

I used to have a phobia of dentists, walking backwards and forwards past the door, plucking up the courage to enter. Now, that is a thing of the past thanks to Sandygate Dental Practice and, in particular John Alesbrook. John has such a calming and reassuring approach to put me at ease. He will always spend a few minutes casually chatting about family, both his and mine. He always remembers past conversations and will often ask about events previously talked about. This totally puts me at ease and, on top of that, he is a really good dentist !! Going to the dentist now is no longer the nightmare it used to be - thanks John.

I had a complicated procedure but I was put at ease & felt no pain & it was done as quickly as possible.

Lovely dentist. I saw Dr Oldfield who was really friendly and he sorted everything planned but also did extra unplanned work! I was so happy as an NHS patient. Definitely recommend!

This was our first time visiting this dentist.
Everything was excellent , first of all excellent chat with the receptionist and then with Lorna the dentist and Lucy.Totally positive experience .

I arrived a few minutes early, was greeted and offered a drink whilst I was waiting.
I was seen on time.
Dentist as usual was very attentive and listened to any dental concerns.
I have to say came away feeling great, lovely clean teeth, confident I could smile.
I would recommend my dentist, he also gives a first class service.
Equally reception is very lovely, always has time for a chat.

Always happy with the service and treatment at Sandygate Dental.
We also take our son here who has ADHD and has had some poor experiences with previous dentists. The team are very considerate, friendly and understanding, takin their time to explain things and making it as easy as possible for him

Excellent staff who communicated well and explained every step of my treatment

I was incredibly nervous about having my crown replaced. The NHS had advised me to go private because the original crown had been done in Canada and was of such good quality. It was expected to last around 10 years, but amazingly it lasted 25. During that time my gums had receded and my natural teeth had become stained, but whitening wasn’t really an option because of the crown.

Before finding Sandygate Dental Practice, I saw several other dentists and thought I had done plenty of research. However, I was being advised that I needed extensive treatment, including Invisalign and veneers, when all I really wanted was a brighter smile and to replace my tired old crown.

From my very first appointment, John and Lucy were absolutely amazing. They listened carefully to what I wanted, understood my concerns, and took the time to explain everything step by step. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care put me completely at ease throughout the process.

I am absolutely delighted with the results. My smile looks natural, bright, and exactly what I had hoped for. I was originally given their details through a recommendation from a work colleague, and after my experience, I have now signed up with the practice myself.

I cannot thank John and Lucy enough and would highly recommend them to anyone, especially if you’re feeling nervous or unsure about treatment options.
