Session with hygienist
Last Wednesday I saw Helen, the hygienist. I had an appointment for early March, but was then offered this earlier one as there had been a cancellation. Helen firstly did a detailed "stock-take" of the state of my teeth, with her assistant logging her observations. They then carried out a very thorough scale, clean and polish.
Everyone at the practice is helpful and friendly, and they take care to put patients at their ease.

Molar Filling
I had a large old (c20 years) filling come out a few weeks ago. Gilly put a temporary dressing in which held up really well and then yesterday I went back to have the dressing removed and a new Amalgam filling installed. The whole procedure was relaxed, totally painless apart from a slight ‘awareness’ of the anaesthetic injection (certainly not painful or uncomfortable) and really well done. The bite shaping was spot on and a day later I am eating normally and have forgotten that I had a filling. Throughout the process Gilly explained what she was doing and put me totally at ease.
