Hyslop Dental and Implant Clinic

The staff and my dentist rhys ward are so nice and welcoming nothing is too much trouble they always put me at ease I will never go anywhere else!!

Having not been to the dentist for several years due to actually being terrified, i plucked up the courage and made an apt with Dr Usman Riaz. Slow steps and 12 months later my fear has gone and thats all credit to the wonderful, supportive staff at Hyslop Dental Clinic, from Tracy and co on reception, Charlotte the Hygienist, numerous dental nurses and Usman. My only regret is not going sooner. I urge anyone with a fear of dentists to pick up the phone and go and see the fabulous people at Hyslops. You will be treated with respect and dignity from start to finish in a modern, friendly environment. I haven't finished my treatments yet but already my smile has improved beyond recognition, sensitivity gone and im actually looking forward to my next appointment. This really is a 5 star practice.

The reason for writing this recommendation and review is two fold, the first being to allay any fears that someone thinking about having dental implants might have and the second is to praise the five star treatment from Hyslop's Dentist

I have to say that I was not looking forward to having implants although I knew for my self esteem and quality of life that I could not go on living with dentures. Eating in general was not good and I was missing my favourite foods. I was also conscious of my smile and would often put my hand over my mouth to hide my teeth.

Having decided to have dental implants I met with Dr James Hyslop to discuss a plan of action. At this first meeting James explained everything to me thoroughly and I was confident that I had chosen the right Dentist due to the manner in which I was being treated and the professionalism of James and his staff

However having worked out a plan of action the day arrived when surgery was to commence. Although I knew what was going to happen I was still a little nervous and feeling anxious

My fears were not to be founded as the surgery went without discomfort, trauma or pain. A little bruising the following day but importantly the smile was back on my face

The standard of care and hygiene was first class. James and his assistant Sally and Michelle were professional, considerate, caring, friendly and nothing was to much trouble

If you are considering having dental implants I can't recommend Hyslop's highly enough. From Tracy, Jo and Alex the front of house team to Sally, Michelle and James service was first class.

I was recommended Hyslop Dental practice by a friend of mine, who was a patient at the practice. I needed an implant putting in as I had lost a tooth and I didn’t want to feel self conscious about smiling as my daughter was getting married later on in the year. My previous dentist had caused me so many problems with my teeth and made me so scared to have anything done, I was petrified of going anywhere. When I eventually plucked up the courage to go and make an appointment, I was so apprehensive about it all, but the staff on reception were so friendly and very welcoming that it made me feel more at ease. When I eventually met James, he knew straight away that I was nervous. He took his time with me and reassured me. He explained everything to me fully and also showed me photographs where necessary of the various stages of my treatment. At the end of my first visit all my worries, concerns and apprehension were gone and I was actually looking forward to starting my treatment. I have had a Root canal done, removal of a tooth, a tooth implant and also two fitted crowns which in total took about 8 months and all sorted before my daughters wedding in September. The after care was second to none and after each visit I never in pain, which was something I had never experienced before!! I have been that impressed with the way that James has been with me, that I have had a further two more implants fitted and I have also left my old practice and registered with James as my new dentist! I cannot fault James or any of the staff at the practice, they have all been absolutely fantastic, I wish I was recommended him years ago!!

I'd like to call out the professionalism and friendliness of the staff at Hyslop, particularly the two lovely ladies on reception and my dentist Joe White, and his assistant/s.
I've subsequently had several appointments and Joe is a fantastic dentist, with the quality of his work second to none.

I recently joined Hyslop Dental as I had some complications with my last dentist in Southport and I could not be happier. I started as a nervous patient and now I have hardly any nerves at all thanks to James and his team Michelle and Sally specifically and the lovely receptionist Tracy. The team are a real credit. I have had a range of treatments including an implant which I am so pleased with the outcome, I would recommend anyone worried about having an implant to go for a consultation at Hyslop and you will see there is nothing to worry about! Highly recommend this dental practice.

After researching where would be best to have my dental work carried out...I decided to go with James at Hyslop, it has proven to be the correct decision.
From my first consultation I felt very relaxed and comfortable with James who explained that day’s procedures at each appointment.

I visited Hyslop Dental as i was unhappy with the appearance of my teeth! I went for a free consultation with Dr Dixon about fixed braces and I instantly couldnt wait to start the treatment! After having my braces removed I am so happy with the appearance of my teeth and I can smile with confidence again. I attended an Open Evening at Hyslop Dental to discuss the possibility of dental implants. James was very thorough in providing information on the choices available and at a subsequent appointment, and following X-rays and a scan, gave me a detailed report on the options I had.
I have just had my final restorations using 4 implants in both upper and lower jaws. For many years my diet was restricted due to insecure teeth and partial dentures but I now have perfect stable teeth.
Everybody is nervous when having surgery but James and his team are very professional, reassuring and friendly. There was no pain during or after surgery and I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Hyslop Dental to anyone considering major dental treatment.

When my Dentist told me I was facing the prospect of a denture my heart sank and the guilt of all those years of insufficient care for my teeth hit me hard and confirmed my suspicion - that I was getting older!
However, after a short consultation with James Hyslop I was reassured that all was not lost and that Dental Implants could come to my rescue.

Today, I have just completed a fairly lengthy course of treatment but my mouth now feels like it is twenty years younger - I have a complete set of teeth which both look, and function normally ( without the bulky plate or problems associated with dentures ).
Whilst the process is lengthy (12 months for me for 4 crowns and 3 implants) this is the result of James’ attention to detail and his refusal to take short cuts and at all times allowing plenty of time for the healing process thereby ensuring the best outcome.
James is clearly a very experienced professional at the very top of his game and is justifiably proud of the quality of his work.
His clinic is fully equipped with all the necessary X-ray and scanning equipment so everything can be carried out ‘in house’ and the staff are always polite,friendly and very attentive.
To anyone contemplating this type of dental work I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending James and his team - I am very pleased with the final outcome for me.

I Love my New Teeth

I can’t praise Hyslop Dental and Implant Clinic enough! I’d had my previous dentist for over 20 years and thought he was good until I went ahead with two implants which did not turn out well at all. In fact it had all been guesswork and the implants were inserted on an angle!! I was extremely dissatisfied and decided to start looking around for a new dentist. I had heard only good things about Dr James Hyslop and thought I would give him a try. As soon as I walked into the surgery the staff greeted me in such a friendly way and the experience just got better and better. His surgery is clean with state-of-the-art equipment and my whole experience injected me with confidence so I decided to go for another implant procedure, on the other side to where I had had one before.

I couldn’t believe the professional treatment I was receiving – nothing was left to chance – James Hyslop was so thorough and actually struck me as a perfectionist. I couldn’t help comparing him to my previous dentist. Everything was explained as we went along and I even had a CT Scan at the surgery and it was then that I realised how inadequate my previous dentist had been.

James Hyslop is obviously a well-qualified, expert in his field. I am now so happy with my new teeth I’m on ‘Cloud Nine’ as they say! Thank you James and your wonderful team.

I was referred to James Hyslop for implant treatment over 4 years ago,when he was still based in St Helens. I stayed with James when he relocated to Southport- despite the extra journey time,I felt that his expertise was well worth it,and still do!
