My experience
My original appointment was changed by Amber Valley Dental Practice last week. Reason given was that they needed to change my appointment with Nadia to M.Hussain for the 17/2/26. No other explanation was given. I went ahead with my visit yesterday and had my teeth checked and cleaned. When I went to the desk to pay and book in for 6 monthly check up, I asked that the appointment be with Nadia again. At this point the Receptionist informed me that Nadia was not taking on anymore NHS patients and was seeing Private Patients now. I queried this as I’ve been with Nadia for over 7 years and was recommended to her for her gentle, kind manner which is something I need as I have always been scared of dentists. She was very good on my last visit at detecting a lump on my neck and had me swiftly seen by a consultant at The Derby Royal. I was not told the reason why my appointment was changed and had I been I would have challenged the decision for me to have been passed on to another dentist. I feel let down by the practice which is very concerning after having been a regular customer for so long.

At times, clinicians’ NHS capacity changes due to workload and contractual limits. While Nadia is currently unable to take on additional NHS appointments, all of our dentists provide the same high standard of care, and we remain committed to seeing NHS patients promptly and appropriately.
