My experience

The dental Hygienist commented on my number of units of alcohol consumed per week, having presumably read from this the form that we are asked to complete prior to the appointment. She then asked "can you cut that down for me please?". I was so taken by surprise with this that I didn't know quite how to respond. She then actually persisted and asked this rather impertinent question a second time to make sure she got an answer from me, the manner of which I found rather unnerving. On reflection, I fail to see what on earth this has to do with a dental hygienist. She is not a doctor, or even a health specialist. As far as know, alcohol consumption does not normally affect oral hygiene or health, apart from the possibility of oral cancer which the dentist had already checked me for. I didn't like her manner and attitude to be honest. I found it rather rude and somewhat unnerving and I took umbrage at it. One might almost be tempted to think that dental hygienist is a little unhinged!

The hygienist was superb

I am a very nervous patient but today the hygienist was superb and put me at ease. A very difficult thing to do by far. Even booked in for another appointment. Thank you so much.

Today was a Hygienist at visit and Joanne was excellent as always. It was a Monday afternoon so not the best day of the week for workers after a weekend but Joanne was bright, cheery and professional throughout despite the long day. Reception was crowded and the phone constantly ringing but the receptionist were very polite and efficient at what looked like a very busy.
