Swadlincote Dental Practice
I have a high confidence of the dental practitioner looking after me who I have been with for a number of years. My only problem is I have hearing difficulties and cannot hear very well when everyone around me is talking with a mask on. I have to keep asking for things to be repeated so I can understand what is being asked of me. I know I am in expert hands but I feel foolish when asking for things to be repeated sometimes 3 or 4 times, until II grasp what is being said.

My experience
Noticed today how much things have been cut back. When I said I was paying by cash, I was told ‘ well it’ll have to be correct money, as we have no change', obviously wanted me to pay by card. Signs up saying ‘ no texts’ are sent anymore and had to ask for print out of next appointment. Felt a bit like everything was a bit too much trouble. Cash is still legal tender after all, shouldn’t be made to feel like you’re from another planet if you choose that payment option.

My experience
When told to wash out with the mouthwash there's hardly a mm in the cup to swish round and then you have to spit back in the cup, why not down the sink. COVID is 4years ago. When you have the 2nd wash with water after having teeth cleaned you get a 3/4 full cup but can only rinse out once because have to spit back in the cup, would be nice to have a few rinses out.

Very considerate hygienist
Just saw the hygienist Susan. I expected an awful experience but it was almost painless plus she didn’t rush, plus kept asking how I was. I’m very pleased and will return regularly. I have spinal damage and she was very considerate and a credit to the dental practice.

My experience
Half an hour late being called in. No apology. Proposing unnecessary treatment, talking while scaling so I can’t hear a word. Sink covered over so nowhere to spit, had to ask for somewhere to spit my mouthful of blood. Poor customer service, feel they do the bare minimum but they know NHS patients have little other option.

Explained the options
Receptionists were as always great. My dentist as always was very pleasant. Superb at her job. Explained the options. Booked in for treatment for crown. Couldn't ask for more. Dental nurse was very good and polite. 5 star. Thank you once again. Appreciated.
