Chipping Manor (Wotton) Dental Practice
The treatment was very good as usual, but I felt the attention at reception was very poor.
A smile and a greeting would have been nice and I couldn’t understand why I had to check in on a computer, when one of the receptionists sitting there could have done this easily.
On leaving I had to wait for a long period while staff behind the counter discussed the pros and cons of wearing crocs!
Eventually someone asked what I wanted and I said that presumably I needed to pay.
It would also be a nice gesture to have some recent magazines to read while waiting, rather than a couple of old gossip publications.
Sorry to be negative, but I feel these things are important.

- Following initial appointment getting follow-up session for 2 fillings was very difficult within six week period; only 2 slots offered, both mid afternoon on Tuesdays (2pm). (Not great when working, no out of working hours options as private patient)
- Cost for Check different to website charge £84, website indicates £66
- Cost of work seems very expensive, 2 filling £246 each (seems to be standard cost no matter how little work required). Significant increase over NHS costs
- Rang to change appointment. On a Wednesday afternoon (2pm), automated message stating practice now closed. Struggled to leave message after 3 attempts ringing back I was able to leave message for call back.

An excellent experience
Dentist calm, friendly and came to get me from the waiting room and chatted which put me at ease. This may seem a small act but really made a difference to my level of nervousness.
She was also wearing scrubs in a non clinical colour and that helped too.
She was kind, gentle and I didn’t feel rushed which reduced tension.
Overall it was an excellent experience and I would suggest her approach should be used as common practice.

For someone who have a huge fear of the dentist, they have been fantastic, I have managed to have dental work done here with out having to be referred to anaesthetic clinic, they are always welcoming and take it step by step so not to overwhelm you, and my daughter enjoys her visits with the positive feedback she get from the dentist and how they explain how she can improve without making her feel bad if there is something wrong. Great experience all round.

Exceptional
Sam was exceptional today and I really hope he sees my feedback. I explained I was struggling and he was so compassionate and empathetic. He made the appointment brief to help my anxiety and as I was feeling so fragile, he really took that on board.

The dentist Mr Leech was loverly as slways. But the receptionist were totally ignorant of me all three of them.
I don't expect to stand waiting while they are doing an order for food, even when they had done I was ignored. Disgusting
