Availability and consistency
We very much like the fact that we are able to contact our nominated account handler, Andy, easily. Also, the fact that he has handled our account since we joined Equilibrium in 2014. I have known David for many years as our financial adviser, and consider a friend as well as adviser. Recently Haydn facilitated a meeting with a solicitor to sort out powers of attorney for myself and my wife. Equilibrium Financial Planning
Service continues to be good but some signs of overload on the administration with delays in response on general matters although anything urgent is dealt with promptly. Advice is sound and well reasoned but as a client of some years, I feel Equilibrium is now a "me too" company, good but maybe has lost some of the spark which made it stand out in performance in past years. I recognise the problems of the Pandemic and global trends but the presentation is more a justification of equalling the peer group rather than outperforming.

In terms of investment returns, our focus remains on outpacing inflation over the long term. Whilst we do also provide comparisons to our peer group, this is mainly to provide reassurance to clients during those periods where portfolios do drop in value and to demonstrate how our portfolios compare to wider markets. Our Investment Management Committee meets regularly to discuss our approach, review the options available and make recommendations within the parameters of each fund to ensure we meet our objectives over the longer term.

The service that I have received has been very good over all the years we have used Equilibrium. We find the Equilibrium portal an excellent way of monitoring the performance of our investments and also for contacting our client manager enables us to address any day-to-day issues. Nothing special. However over the past few years we released sufficient cash to buy a bungalow before selling our previous house. After selling our holiday home we took Equilibrium’s advice and used the proceeds to buy our two boys pensions. The past year has been difficult with most investments losing value but we expect investments to recover within the next few months.
