A safe pair of hands during turbulent times
Andy always takes time to discuss what has happened in our lives since our last review and has detailed knowledge of the family. This means that discussions about our finances is always related to our lifestyle and not just to figures on a page. He is always able to answer our questions and provides us with reassurance during these difficult times.

Annual Review Meeting
We have been clients now since 2018, and continue to remain very satisfied with the service and treatment we receive.
Since 2018, the country has faced some extremely challenging times which have affected the money markets. We have appreciated, and been reassured, by the regular contact that we have had from Equilibrium throughout - both in writing and via the very many video presentations.
Our adviser remains extremely attentive and willing to spend time discussing our queries. He is open to our suggestions and will always follow up on anything about which he or we remain uncertain.
Jason is very ably supported by Diana Majko who is our day-to-day point of contact. We have found her to be extremely efficient, accessible and delightful at all times.
I think it is also important to mention that all the staff whom we encounter on our visits to the Equilibrium office are helpful and charming. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
An enormous thank you to all concerned.

We have introduced our two sons to Equilibrium. Following a meeting with Jason and Diana our youngest son has now placed his finances under their umbrella; our eldest son is currently deciding what he will do.
We have been reassured by the communications from Equilibrium and believe that they have acted at all times with our best interests in mind.

Difficult times!
Paul and now with Rosie answered all our questions having been given a number of agenda items.
We do check the MyEQ App (too frequently) so are up to date with performance. Our money is not doing very well at the moment. It has gone down by tens of thousands. We do read blogs like Pulse and attend briefings.

Put our rental house on the market. So far no interest despite it being competitively priced. Other homes on the market that were not quite at the completion stage have now fallen through so at least we are not in that situation.
Back in May we could not have predicted the rate of inflation; cost of living and that mini budget.

Annual Review
Both the Adviser and Client Manager were affable and professional, enabling a detailed understanding of our priorities. In particular we found the Equilibrium systems enabled the Adviser to explore and illustrate "what if..." questions as we explored future financial options.

Equilibrium Financial Planning
Equilibrium is very good at maintaining contact with me and addressing any issues I raise. It is also proactive in providing insights to current economic and investment issues, especially in current challenging times, which provides a degree of reassurance. The website is not the most user friendly (finding the the information you know is there somewhere). I appreciate this and other requests for feedback.

Consistency of Narrative
Despite the vagaries of the market produced by political decisions, COVID, the war in Ukraine and inflation the story has remained the same; don't panic, don't follow the herd, we are here for the long term and history says it will all even out in the long run. There is no fixed plan in operating investments, it is bespoke for the situation at the time so Property and/or Infrastructure might be the flavour currently but in 3 months time it could be a different area for investment. A constant theme is we (Equilibrium) will not get it right every time, we cannot ever catch the very bottom or top of a market.

Mid year review
Equilibrium continue to provide an excellent service. 2022 has so far been a challenging year for the economy and it was great to watch the videos entitled Communicating in a Crisis to better understand what impact the economic situation could have on my financial situation and to reassure me that Equilibrium are managing the risks as best as they can. It also prompted me to contact my Client Manager to check if there are any actions I should be taking.
I've also recently been in touch with my Client Manager and my Financial advisor regarding some shares that I received from a Long Term Incentive Plan as I had been asked to transfer them out of the plan or sell them due to me having left the company. Again Jo and Paul were thorough and clear in their advice.

Have always an exemplary service from Andy Baker and always look forwards to our next meeting. In fact I would be extremely disappointed if Andy moved from Equilibrium, or I was transferred to another advisor. Andy is willing to help solve any problems and has even brought in Mike Deverell to personally answer my queries. For the rest of the company, my dealings have been a pleasure and attention to detail is outstanding. Having been with other financial companies over forty years, Equilibrium is by far the best Personal service.

The jaw-dropping decline in the value of our combined portfolios is clearly a concern and hence my request at our recent review meeting for your views on alternative investments, such as gold and forestry. I am concerned that this is taking so long to be made available, especially as I understood you already have information on file on forestry, for example, and a dedicated Equilibrium forestry fund. What other alternatives, core assets or funds, should I be considering, I wonder? Are our portfolios too small to warrant a speedier response?
The intensifying worldwide political situation and the fact that many so-called economics experts now openly admit that they have misjudged the situation, adds to my personal sense of uncertainty and unease. What more tangible financial advice can Equilibrium offer me, I wonder?

If you get back in touch, we will happily provide information on the requested asset classes which, as you say, our investment team have already looked at.
We would like to reassure you that all our clients are important to us regardless of portfolio size, and we always aim to respond quickly to all requested for information. I am sorry it seems we did not do so on this occasion.
So far this year many asset classes have fallen in value. We understand this can be concerning, especially given the worldwide political situation. However, we are investing for the long term and short-term volatility is an inevitable part of investing.
Our Financial Planners work hard to make sure we understand clients’ personal situations so that we can match risk and returns of portfolios to an agreed time frame.
This is perhaps not the forum to respond to comments about the political situation or discuss alternative investments, but if you get in touch we will gladly discuss.
