Had very little direct contact with Equilibrium. An exchange of emails concerning a suggestion to realign the portfolio by moving a portion into Adventurous and an identical portion into Cautious. I could not see the point of this, and declined. Although I expected some dialogue to follow, there was no further discussion

Thank you for taking the time to comment. We produce a variety of content including videos, articles and other publications to keep our clients up to date and also to provide reassurance. From an investment perspective, these include titles such as our ‘Little Black Book’, Under the Bonnet’ and ‘The Pulse’ communications. Some of these can be found on our website, and there is also client-only content that we communicate via email on a weekly basis to address specific issues or market events. Please get in touch if you would like to subscribe. You are, of course, also welcome to contact your financial planner at any time to discuss your queries.
I’m sorry that we did not expand on our recommendations to update your investment strategy. Without knowing the specific circumstances, it is hard to address fully; however, one of our approaches is to segment portfolios depending upon the timeframe in which money will be needed and invest accordingly i.e., less volatile funds for short term pots, and a more adventurous approach for longer term requirements.
Nucleus is one of the platforms we use to administer client portfolios and manage their investments. As such, they are obliged to confirm when individual transactions have been carried out, but they are not privy to a client’s overall strategy or how each transaction fits within that. Our recommendations are confirmed to clients in a suitability report which explains this level of detail; however, your feedback has been noted and we will review how we report on how each switch has affected portfolios.
