Medication review with pharmacist

I was grateful to be invited for a consult with pharmacist Helen Eastman to discuss my medication and whether there were any issues I had. This was very helpful as I did have some concerns about one drug. The process may have been
triggered by my becoming 65 in 2024, but whatever the reason I was grateful for the opportunity and found it reassuring.

Other than having difficulty getting a face to face which is something that happens at every doctors I find the practice to be very good with some great staff and doctors.

Consultation

Usual courtesy and kindness from the whole Surgery team. Seen the same day as requested an appointment. My consultation led to a speedy referral. A great service and I am very grateful for the way the Practice dealt with me and my problem.

Appointment

I noted that booking by phone was easy. I was 14th in the queue and waited between 5 and 10 mins - probably nearer 5 - to speak to reception. I was quickly allocated an appointment. I was seen at approx the time allocated. I saw a locum. Locum was unfamiliar to me but very helpful. Locum provided a reassuring diagnosis of the issue which I had originally booked the appointment for. He also offered me some guidance on another problem which had been bothering me in the background potentially relating to an episode in 2022.

Telephone message for an appointment

Received a message that I need a follow up appointment after blood tests. Just waiting a text confirming date and time.

Very approachable but I feel details are missing.

Very approachable and friendly appointment. Confident approach to my healthcare but I personally feel I'm not getting to the real detailed healthcare I'm looking for. When going into my doctors appointments I prefer detailed analysis of my results and documentation along with my verbal appointment. It also helps process what I'm hearing and can reference it for future records. I personally feel I would like my test results documented and available after my doctors appointment.

Great service.

I am not a frequent doctor visitor. However, I was seen with only a slight delay and was given as much time as I needed to discuss my concerns. I felt being heard and was referred to all the relevant investigations. I had detailed explanations with regards to the treatment plan and why some things were offered and some were not a good idea.
