Scandalous, you can't get an appointment even if you phone at 08.00 all the appointments have gone. How can this be if you insist on patients phoning in to book. It would appear that people are being given special privileges and being booked in ahead of the phone in service. It's absolutely appalling, it's quicker to spend 15 hours in A&E at less you get to see someone. I'm sure no one will review the survey so it's a waste of time really, I would like a response to prove me wrong.
Reply from St Peter's Surgery
Dear Mr Adams,
We are sorry to hear you feel this way. I know patients at times can struggle to get an appointment due to the extreme high demand and we are doing our best and up most with that we have with the funding we receive.
Once we are at full capacity with the doctors, clinicians and nursing team then the medical issue needs urgent treatment, we have to re-direct patients to attend an urgent treatment centre or to contact the 111 service.
We have to have a capacity limit to enable us to run a safe practice.
We always have urgent on the day appointments Monday – Friday (except bank holiday) for more urgent issues that patients are asked to telephone the surgery at 8am for an on the day appointment (capacity can change). Even if it is an ongoing issue but yet getting worse, this would warrant an urgent on the day appointment. Please don’t hesitate to contact ourselves if you ever feel you need to obtain one of these appointments.
E-consultations (through our website(non-urgent), once submitted patients should get booked in within 7 days. Also if more a routine issue, our routine GP appointments to pre-book 2 weeks ahead.
Nursing appointments we can pre-book up to 2 months ahead. I hope this helps for future reference.
Kind Regards
Overall, how was your experience of our service?
