My breathing is poor

At the moment I'm not very happy. I attended my appointment, the doctor was absolutely brilliant but the service is not very good. I'm waiting for a blood test which should have been on the 16th but that was cancelled by you, now I've got to wait to the end of the month, the 31st, also I've got to have an ACG heart monitoring thing and I was told that the machine is not working at the moment, they will contact me when it's working, the thing is I'm struggling with, my breathing and the doctor cannot diagnose what's wrong until these tests have been completed so how long is it going to take. I come up to do anything at the moment, I can't even take a shower without getting out of breath.

A surgery practice who listen to their patients

I have recently had to rely upon the GP Practice following a knee operation. From initial examination to post-op recovery, the practice listened to my concerns over my meds management and supported me with the provision of ancillary equipment. This has led to a better understanding and a quicker recovery. I am pleased this is the case as my other knee op is planned and I have confidence that the practice is looking after me. The staff are pleasant and very supportive and most importantly, they listen. If you can find time to explain your concerns in a calm and factual manner, the team at Orchard House is there for you.

I suffer from depression and sleep amnesia. I had an appointment booked for 10 am today and unfortunately was 20 minutes late. I tried phoning at my appointment time while I travelled to the surgery only to be on hold for my entire journey therefore not allowing me to inform of my lateness. When I arrived at the surgery, apologetically I gave them my name and the time that I was supposed to have arrived. The receptionist said that I wouldn’t be able to complete my appointment and that I needed to rebook and the earliest appointment was for another 11 days time. Appreciate that. It’s a very busy time for surgery but the appointment was for some crucial bloods, weight and blood pressure. Suffering with what was mentioned above the reasons for being late was that I did indeed fall asleep just before my appointment time waking only five minutes to arrive. I really thought that the surgery would be more understanding given the circumstances of my appointment and ongoing issues. my weight and my blood pressure is a big concern of mine feeling tired fatigue and ill all of the time

Thank you for your feedback. We do allow up to 5 minutes for patients past their appointment time, unfortunately no longer due to avoiding delay for clinicians and other patients. Sorry for wait in your phone call being answered, You do have the option to have a call back on our phone system which will place you into the virtual queue and once you are position one in the queue, the system will automatically call you back. We are providing the most amount of appointments we can safely. I do hope that you can understand that the system is currently in high demand but we are trying our best for all patients at the practice.

This surgery is a joke,
-walk in, get told to call in morning as nothing is available (daily basis)
-call at 8 waiting for half hour nothing available
-if you need mental health help it will take forever
-if you need to see someone asap, not possible

Generally the surgery is awful, COVID is over, so why are you only operating on covid staff and rules? It is a complete sham of a surgery for anyone under the age of 60.

We are sorry to hear your views. We are providing the most amount of appointments we can safely. I do hope that you can understand that the system is currently in high demand but we are trying our best for all patients at the practice. As well as on the day appointments, we have pre-bookable phone calls and face to face appointments that can be booked in advance. You can also use the e-consults service, which is accessible on the practice website.

Blood Results

I had blood tests on 27/3. Went in to get results on 8th & 15th April, was told both times they were back but not seen by Dr, so was told I as not allowed them. I said what if they were abnormal, was told that would have been contacted if they were. My argument is how can they tell if they haven’t been reviewed. Surely they should have been seen by now and that’s Drs have admin time. I have worked as a Nurse for 44 years and know how the system works and feel this is poor practice, any treatment if needed would be hindered.
