I saw a GP who was very professional, took her time to make an appropriate diagnosis, decided next steps. Followed up by a telephone appointment to confirm the outcome.

Felt that all my questions were answered in a way that made me feel comfortable.

I was called into my appointment 30 minutes after my appointment time and was told by locum GP that he could only spend 10 minutes per patient.

I asked Dr if he could refer me to a local physio and he told me that I could have self referred. Physio has told me to get GP referral

Telephoned me on time listened to what I had to say and helped.

On time and the GP was very thorough

Difficult to get essential appointments booked by receptionists, appointments like diabetic reviews.
Receptionists appear to be performing a 'triage' role, highly inappropriate for non medical staff.
Receptionists insist on providing phone consultations when not appropriate ie. To discuss a lump or potential hernia, need for in person is then stated during the subsequent booked phone consult. This further indicates the failures introduced by receptionists performing triage roles.
Once with a medically trained professional the booking of appointments situation improves. For example a nurse doing diabetic review books appropriate future appointment without issue. Also a GP during a phone consult will say this needs an in person appointment.
Yet more indication of the failure introduced by using receptionist to triage medical issues.
Often further tests like blood tests or ultrasound scans discussed during phone consults are not booked on system to be actioned. Following up with receptionists to check if the tests are being booked meets with an obstructive, dismissive approach focused on blame shifting rather than resolution. Including being told 'we don't issue the appointments, it's a third party service" when the question actually concerns whether the need has been put to the third party service and not the appointment date itself.
Receptionists are introducing further friction in an already stressed service. This is unnecessary and appears a structural issue, the way receptionists are instructed and used rather than poor attitude from a single member of staff.

I had a telephone consultation with the GP who explained the results of my x-ray in language I understood and seriousness I understood and was immediately referred on to Orthopaedics for pain management and or surgery.

I have not had any trouble with the surgery, always polite and friendly staff and doctors are very polite and good

After waiting 3 weeks for a blood test appointment it was cancelled the day before after already receiving texts reminding me of it. On phoning the surgery immediately to rebook another date the earliest I could book an appointment for was in another 3 weeks time. So if that goes ahead I will have waited 6 weeks for a blood test.

During a recent consultation, I presented with a week-long cough, elevated temperature, and a runny nose with green phlegm, and was subsequently prescribed allergy medication. This diagnostic and treatment approach warrants further review.

Kia on reception so incredibly helpful when I popped in to ask about my shoulder issues & repeat meds. I’m so grateful to Kia, the lady who helped re repeat meds, the physio who referred me for X-ray & the doctor who spoke to me after re the results & recommended meds & treatment.
Faultless, appreciated & very grateful having been in pain for a few months. The whole system & local pharmacy & the WH hospital too.
