Blood test

I booked online for a blood test. When I arrived, I put my details into the machine as instructed, waited 25 minutes to be called. Went to the receptionist desk who told me I was booked into Birchington Medical Centre and not Lydd. Have now missed my blood test at the hospital as they can’t take blood without a blood test result first

Great service as usual

The e-consult system is very easy and was acknowledged same day, and actioned really quickly resulting in seeing a Doctor face to face within 48 hours and a referral to specialist and appointment arranged by specialist 24 hours after that.

Possible urine infection

I called the receptionist as I thought my 3 year old had a urine infection and we were going away the following day. As per normal I was told no appointments left, go to the walk in centre, call 111 or call tomorrow morning at 8. I asked if I could just bring down a urine sample to be check but was told no he must be seen by a doctor first. I decided to do an e consult and was contact that same afternoon by the doctor. He was very good and offered me an appointment that evening at 6 to check him over and do a urine sample. When we went in he was very thorough and so helpful, I could not fault the doctor at all, very, very good!

Lovely Surgery

I saw a different doctor on this visit, but yet again it was a good experience. She was friendly and showed interest in my health, telling me the results of my test(s) in a way I could understand. I am a relatively new patient and I feel very lucky to belong to this surgery.

Doctor Martin was very good, made me feel at eas,e checked blood pressure etc and asked various questions, listened to how I felt, completed her examination and arranged blood tests and X-ray

Anxiety compounded by delay

Suspected a facial squamous cell carcinoma. Phoned surgery. Told earliest appointment 3 weeks hence. Arranged Benenden hospital GP appointment who (on examination) confirmed cancer likely. She asked me to arrange urgent NHS dermatologist appointment through surgery. Rang and was told to ring again next day. Now waiting for referral appointment …. But would still be 12 days away from seeing a GP if I had not been a member of the Benenden scheme.
