Doctors
Only to reiterate as many do I suspect the issue seeing a doctor, particularly one of preference. However I do understand demand outstrips supply and bearing that in mind have always found Portsdown to be a good Health provider, although there have been staff who at times appear to lack empathy. An example of that is "if you're in that much pain ring back Monday morning" can you not just have a pain which causes discomfort. As to an ideal world and my own preferences, it would be nice to see a doctor, particularly as you age and develop multiple health problems who knows you well and understands your physiology.

Getting appointments
Getting appointments to actually see a doctor involves a lot of jumping through hoops, phone first thing then told to call back at ten then wait for a phone call at home, then with a bit of luck and a fair wind you might get an appointment. The phone calls are very painful as you can be on the phone for 50 minutes ( that’s if you don’t get cut off)

Emergency Appointment
Feel that I wasted a whole day. I had to call for a triage appointment first thing in the morning, I was then told to expect a call back before 1.30pm, then the appointment was set for 4.30pm. When I saw the doctor, I told him I was in a great deal of pain, so expected to be prescribed painkillers. Instead he gave me an information leaflet of the symptoms and told me to buy codeine. When I arrived at a chemist, I was told I could only buy a low dose of co-codamol, which did not relieve the pain at all.

My treatment at the doctors
I was waiting for doctors call for far too long, wish I could be seen early or spoke to a doctor but at the end I was happy with the doctor, thank you.

Doctor
The doctor I saw was friendly and I felt that he listened to what I was saying and took it on board. He didn't rush me like most doctors do. Can't rate him highly enough.

Thank you for the review. Pleased to hear you were happy with your visit - we do apologise that you had to wait a short while - whilst we review appointment times regularly, there are inevitably some delays when patients may be unwell or require additional support; we are glad this did not impact your experience.

Friendly service
Great experience. I normally hate blood tests but the nurse was extremely friendly and made me feel relaxed. She was also very gentle and the blood test didn't hurt at all which was a relief.

My visit to Cosham Park House Surgery
It was on a Friday morning that I got a phone call from Cosham Park House Surgery. From a woman asking me to go and see a doctor at 4:45 p.m. because he wanted to talk to me. I got to the surgery at 4:35. At 17-15 i got to see the doctor and I said to him can you tell me what you wish to talk to me about and he said I do not want to talk to me so this means I had traveled all that way because I was told over the phone that a doctor wanted to speak to me and it ended up he didn't to be frank I thought this was appalling which I told the doctor it wasn't good enough I was already suffering with a urine infection. I was not feeling very well in my opinion it was an absolute cock-up so all I can say they must improve
